I read that schiphol is a great airport for planespotters because the fences are very close to the runways - is that right?

Yes, fences are quite close to runways, but best of all, there are no fences in some areas. West side of the Polderbaan, nothing stands between you and the runway except a very low hedge and a very narrow water canal. (At least that's the way it was 3 years ago.)

Jazeker. Geen HD camera in 2007! This video contains footage from early 2007 and early 2008. I didn't make the switch to HD until mid-2007. For my 2008 visit--shot in HD--I got no good landings at all (rain, rain, rain!) so I decided to just use my SD landings from a year earlier.

The SD camera was a Panasonic AG-DVC30 (with TONS of Deshaker applied to the footage in post); the HD cam was a Canon XH-A1 (my first shoot with that one, so many of my settings were not ideal!)

Many thanks! Well, it's real ATC audio, and for the most part it is the ATC communication regarding the flights/aircraft you're seeing on screen, BUT it was recorded later and mixed in. I had an airband radio with me that was recording ATC while I was shooting, but I decided not to use it because it was way too noisy/distorted.
