I program the console some: it's the ~ key in game, and you have to enable it in the game options I believe. It's basically the same console system used in other half-life games as well as quake II and III. It's what allows me to fill my skill bar with spells, and still have weapons hot-keyed. Is that cheating? meh, I dont care =]
