Stupid duck is supposed to die in the real story. It annoys me when Disney makes things different. Except for the little mermaid and the hunchback of the Notre Dame. I like these two better than te original but I don't like this version of Peter and the wolf.

I like the wolf and wolves in general but then again I'm not a fan of changing stories so that they don't upset people. Pretty soon kids stories will begin and end with, "and everyone lived happily ever after." No conflict allowed in between. Also, when I was a little kid my mom gave me a brief history lesson about wolves in Europe. She said that they were often rabid in that particular time and place and basically that's why there are so many childrens stories about evil wolves.

I can't stand the ending of this version. I felt bad for the wolf - I'm not ashamed to say this...it made me unhappy and gave me the chills looking at the wolf motionless - I wish they made peace with the wolf or let him go - it's not fair. In fact, who did thought Peter might've been a greedy little bastard all along - wanting fame and fortune for doing something that wasn't worth it - in fact, just plain animal cruelty. i remember watching this as a kid and being sad when the duck "died" but then being so happy when it turned out he was alive.

Then I found out that in the real story the duck stays dead, which then depressed me.

The last thing the narrator says about her is that Sonia the Duck can still be heard from within the Wolf's gut, and to prove it, you hear a faint Oboe in the background. Though she was eaten alive, she still lived.

I remember hearing Peter and the Wolf in school over 60 years ago and vaguely remember seeing Peter carrying the wolf upside down - the most impressive memory is of the soulful music - it was incredibly sad as the duck was in the wolf's tummy and not sure about the rest.

I like this ending better than the original story. A LOT better. In the story, the wolf actually got the duck. But in his rush to eat her, she was only swallowed. When the wolf is caught, you can hear the duck's quacking from inside the wolf.

@DanNZ4 I believe he was alive, and when he was tied up he was being taken to a zoo (this is usually what happened to the wolf at the end of most versions of the story). I think in the olden days they tied up captured vicious animals like that when transporting them to the zoo

if i remember correctly, they say in the real stroy the duck actually dose get eaten by the wolf. when my teacher told my 1st grade class this, everyone got scared and cryed. And still remember my teacher saying, okay... maybe i should not have said that. lol
