place like this are a disgrace to greeks. Disgusting racist decor, Spankopitas look like they are deep fried, disgusting processed gyro meat, souvlaki has vegetables on it for some reason, baklava made with pistachios (lebenese style). the real way to make gyro is with a layer of lamb and a layer of fat (turkish donair style) Gyro's shouldn't have lettuce either. at least the owner is keeping it real.. "just give me the money". Maybe this just "american" greek.

In regard to the comment about the place being packed on the day of filming, that's the usual for this place. I worked for Mike in 1991 & a line out the door, around the building was common. The food is delicious; best in the world.

@keepinitcrucible Authenticity and kebab is a tricky thing...all the med/middle eastern cultures have them. It's like saying here in the US "Is this an authentic taco?" We even have tacos from Lebanese immigrants to Mexico, who invented a taco meat using their kebab cooker. It's called Al Pastor, and it's my favorite taco, made out of pork. Street food is all about freshness to me, and not mass produced; home style, family recipes FTW! Those Donners in Britain usually come from a factory....
