It depends on what you are mounting. In some cases a large threaded screw with sealant is sufficient. If it is under stress, use a wellnut, rivet, or intereor nut if the area can be reached.
Vacu-form Kayaks are not made of an incredibly durable plastic. The plastic is designed to be soft, so it doesn't crack. I would recommend using a washer and nut on the inside if you can reach. Otherwise use wellplugs.
when u drill a hole in the kayak, do u need to tap it or put a nut on the back of the bolt, or does the screw just hold?
