Thanks Tomo. Any time you want, I teach on Skype. It is the same as being in person, and you get a video file to practice with at the end of the lesson. Most people like it better.
When I said "like Chet" I mean he did not over do it, either. Many of his great works are very plain and clean. When he wanted to show off, he wrote his own stuff. All I can shoot for is to be clean. My fingers are stubby, and my thumb is useless for bar chords (Merle). But rather then stomp my guitar into firewood, after I hear guys like you, I want to find another song to work on. Best wishes for your continued success.
Very Leon Redbone of you, sir! I love to listen to you for the diversity of your styles. You've got jazz, thumb picking, dixie land, and the Uke! Holy Cow! You are clean as a whistle and you play to the musical score, not to sjow off every machine gun run you know. Like Chet.
I started on the Uke when I was a little kid. You transend from guitar player to guitar thinker. Love your stuff.
@oldtimtoad I had a little banjo uke from my grandmother, and my dad's guitar. I also got a 5 string banjo and worked with that a lot, so I never could decide what I liked best.
Chet, Django, Les Paul, Merle, Johnny Smith, Jimmy Bryant, Nato Lima, Eddie Lang, you name it. It was all school. Now I just have to decide what I want to do.
Rob, this is Joshua Thorington, if you recall, during that workshop i mentioned this video. I would like to point out that i have since learned Dinah, and it's one of my favorites. Today a friend of mine who plays the sax and i presented it to a class to show them the sound of the upbeat jazz of the 1920s. I couldn't have gotten this far if it wasn't for you. Thanks!
This really swings! Great guitar here from my friend Michael Karoub. Rob Bourassa is a spirited jazz player on an instrument I don't usually associate with jazz. This is a 5 star performance!
Oh, good sir, you just made me chuckle XD I'm very much liking the "instead of making fun of his mistake, let's adjust our reality to FIT his mistake" approach.. Woo. That was a good laugh.
youve always played for my kids at greenfield village during thomas the train weekend your a great player and person to bring that much joy to people and children. thanks,
bravo............ive been watching your videos all morning. im a guitar student at the university of arizona, and im learning something new with each video!
According to Wikipedia's page, Dinah (song): The music was written by Harry Akst, the lyrics by Sam M. Lewis and Joe Young. The song was published in 1925. It was introduced by Eddie Cantor in Kid Boots that year in Pittsburgh.

I love Django. Unfortunately, it is hard to do extensive solo line work, without a rhythm player.
