  • dude people stop fighting with a troll. he wants attention. don't give it to him, he'll leave you alone. just enjoy the music

  • Dylan was a poet, prophet, and revolutionary from the San Francisco at the City Lights Bookstore district (Haight-Ashbury) with all the true artists of the time and he will remain classic in the hearts of people who lived in those times. Allen Ginsberg, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Jack Kerouac, Ansel Adams, and Neal Cassidy. They defined what our subculture was in the 50s and 60s - they moved from Greenwich Village in New York to San Francisco and went from being beatniks to hippies.

  • his music will be listened to forever

  • Like if watchmen brought you here

  • 41 people sunk like stones

  • 41 people criticize what they dont understand

  • I love how a movie created Bob Dylan fans

  • @15HeavyMetalHead333 haha i love that too :P

  • I've been Captain Planet roll'd?!?1 where's bob dylan?

  • @ILUVLUCYDESI true

  • This music speaks to my heart :)

  • Does anyone know which verison this from?

  • I guess I sorta of envy all em people who grew up in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s because I can imagine it vividly how it was like but I didn't live it. The people, the music, the fashion, the movies, it was all much better & people from those days had more class, morals, &charm then today & think about all the iconic people during those times, & the making of history now there is just nothing don't tell me we have anyone important we don't but I hope we will

  • @ILUVLUCYDESI if you had any respect the genre of hip hop you wouldn't be saying that. theres plenty of good music after the 70s.. i think right now its pretty bad.. and eminem did lose a little of my respect for his new shit (latest album). but the dude is an undeniable legend... even elton john recognized that (after all the so called gay bashing that he does so much of)

  • @puffinonindo I do NOT agree with you AT ALL!!!!!!!! I personally think your way off and its no use going back and forth so I'm just leaving it there peace

  • Who knows why I dont fit in with my generation,Who knows why my head blows up when I listen to this mainstreams music,Who knows why I roll my eyes at the movies from now a days terrible actin,Who knows why I feel like throwin up when I see phony girls tryin to look like Snooki,But all I know is I wasnt born in those days maybe I just wouldnt appreciate it as much maybe? But Im not givin up I believe this generation will change &we will be able to say we were part of a marvelous generation

  • Sadly the times are changing & its sad & it sucks!

  • Shhh... Why argue? Listen to Bobby D.

  • Hating people for liking other music is like hating people for liking another flavor of ice cream. There's no logic behind it, and in the end YOU are the one that's in the wrong.

  • @shara30000 Word!

  • man i dont support the hippy movement but man i love ol bob dylan's music

  • its worst now than before and nothing is changing bob...i am sorry it s 50 years after and it s getting worst!....nice song though!! we might be clkoser than your generation never was...to the real change if God is on our side!

  • I find this picture to be extremely sexy... but anyways. I love Bob Dylan. All of his stuff. :)

  • Heard this version for the first time last night, mind = blown. One of my favorite songs of all time in a new way. So good.

  • i looove this song. :)

  • Even though our generation is shitty, why dont you rise above and make YOUR future successful instead of falling into the crowd with the rest of these morons that think "swag" will pay their bills?!

  • The Wanderers <3

  • this song gives me goosebumps. i think black sabbath would do a wonderful cover of this song.

  • "and don't criticize what you can't understand"

    People should listen to Dylan

  • @DanteSitwell Don't try to quote it out of context, either.

  • 39 people don't like this song =(

  • Attention douchbags: Stop complaining about how today's music sucks and grow the feck up. If you honestly can't think of a better modern artist to compare to Dylan than Justin Bieber or Rihanna then you're an ignorant little twat who needs to spend a little time in the real music world. Now fuck off and let me enjoy this amazing song.

  • @DimentalLabs I hope you know comments like that just blend in with all the other people trying to sound sophisticated on the internet.

  • @joemchugh61 I hope you know your comments about the generations aren't unique or original at all, and that every angsty tween who discovers "real music" shares the same sentiment. Why do so many YouTubers think it takes balls to trash music everyone already knows is bad and praise music everybody already knows is good? Have an original fucking thought and stop trying to shut down any intelligent conversation to be had based on your original post.

  • @DimentalLabs And I hope you know this is probably the eighth or ninth comment saying basically the exact same shit, who's not original now you pretentious wanna be sophisticated ass hole. Maybe you should think of some original comments.

  • @joemchugh61 You're right, you have me there. I'll go do that, thanks for showing me the way.

  • @DimentalLabs couldn`t think of anything? haha, alright, peace.

  • @joemchugh61 That's kind of an ironic comment considering the post I responded to.

  • @DimentalLabs I was comparing generations, not bitching at someone based on an opinion.

  • in my opinion this is better than "like a rolling stone". Top 3 song ever made in my opinion. Just pure classic music. nothin beats it... I just feel GOOD when i listen to this. isn't that what music is supposed to do?

  • @Nerdslab well the time they say it takes for evolution to happen is much to long to be possible. The earth is not old enough, if evolution was real it would not be provable because we would not have fossils of things around before humans because you get to a point when even fossils decompose and weather away. They say man wasn't around with the dinosaurs and we have dinosaur bones and fossils which means the earth isn't old enough for man to of formed in that time frame.

  • I agree on the generation thing, we make what we live and how.

  • 39 people didnt come when he called them

  • Guys, come on. Leave joemchugh61 alone. There's no need to rip on someone for pointing out how far the standards of the music industry have fallen...

  • One thing I just realized recently...all these great musicians are NOT baby boomers. Dylan, all the beatles, all the stones, buddy holly, elvis, on and on are all from the previous generation to the boomers (boomers are from 1946 to 1964). The boomers were the audience, not the producers. .The boomers themselves produced Disco (ugh) when you come right down to it. And its the generation after the boomers, generation X, that for me ears produced the best music, the music of the 90s.....

  • Wow, clearly I was born in the wrong generation.

  • I just wanna jam

  • You weren't "born i, the wrong generation", you're just not looking hard enough. The same type of people are filling our radios with the stuff you don't want to hear that were filling up the radios back then.

  • this is exactly how i feel today. thank you Dylan.

so much changes, but spirit and heart are timeless.

    Dyan's spirit = timeless

  • I like this song a lot.... to me its like he is saying that things are going to happen.... and you cant stop it, times are going to change, and you have to as well

  • ps this has to lyrically be like, top 3 in music history. Such meaning, such heaviness, so appropriate for the time. Poetical perfection.

  • ...continuing with the "wrong generation" ers... in Dylan/Hendrix's/Townsends day, there was also shitty music. There will always be shitty music. There will also, always, be good music. The good music is what gets remembered, the Justin Bieber's fade away. That's why it always has "the grass is greener" effect...

  • To all of the people that say they were "born in the wrong generation" you make it seem like you have given up hope. You are only letting the people you dislike win when you just use that as an excuse instead of trying to make this generation as great if not greater than those of yesterday.

  • @CCGProducti0ns

"Why should heaven and all it's greatness be waiting for us in our graves, when we can have it here on earth?"

    - Ayn Rand

  • @CCGProducti0ns deep stuff bro

  • @CCGProducti0ns When I started reading that, I was going to just blow it off as a dumb philosophical Youtube comment. But I'm not. Because that's a respectable response.

  • @CCGProducti0ns your a fag to god you guys are attention whores hahah

  • @CCGProducti0ns I agree for some, or they realize how flawed this current culture is and want to change it. That's how I am.

  • @CCGProducti0ns Or...some people just prefer old music and perhaps wish they grew up with it. People just have preference, opinion and ideas, people on the internet cant seem to grasp that...

  • @CCGProducti0ns This is so fucking prolific.

  • @CCGProducti0ns That's futile. Humanity is not measured in generations no matter how ignorant you are.

  • I've always listen to this guy sing through out my life. I camped right next to Bob Dylyn when I was 12 years old in 1972 in the Yellow Stone National Park. I remember he was rolling in a van, and his van was filled with recording stuff and gitars. He allso had his Harmoica and they practiced playing. It was awesome.

  • the order is rapidly fading...

  • What a restless, wonderful generation. So where have we all gone we are now all sexy seniors. Let life be witness to what we tried and lost. Now we are wondering about retirement. Maybe we should all become magical troubadours. At least we had the right idea if we didn't see it through to the end, We once believed in what we were.

  • why do people keep talking about things that has nothing to do with the music? this song is excellent. what does justin bieber has to do with that? end of story.

  • Thumbs up if Watchmen brought you here.

  • Do you see a dislike bar? Cos I don't.

  • 39 people think that times never change

  • well he is bob z

  • Yeah I use to like this song but hes with the Illuminati. Its sad really.

  • @SnkyCyanTurtle what?

  • @FusionStorm999 he's one of those people who think that the Illuminati are still in action and use popular music to brainwash and control us.I have a buddy who is engulfed in this conspiracy.

  • AP Euro~

  • Bob Dylan is stoned like i am :D

  • Watchmen!!!!!!!!

  • Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj , Eminem, Justin Bieber V.S. Bob Dylan, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, CCR

I'm in the wrong fucking generation.

  • @joemchugh61

Seriously :( I'm on the same boat as you.

  • @joemchugh61 This is the comment of someone who doesn't understand nearly as much as they think. Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix were not singles artists. This is a false equivalency. (CCR was, but this is more a function of the industry no longer developing artists, there are plenty of Fogerty-level songwriting talents in this generation that just aren't heavily promoted to radio and buttressed with an ad budget)

  • @TruthInErnst that's right. call 'em out!

  • @TruthInErnst All I was doing was pointing out the change in music over the years and how i wish i was around for artists like Bob Dylan. So your comment was from someone who highly overestimates their level of sophistication.

  • @joemchugh61 You're missing my point. There were shitty pop singers in the 60's too. There has always been music for teenyboppers and "serious" music for adults. Comparing Bob Dylan to Katy Perry doesn't make any sense, it's a cheap shot to this generation of musicians, of which there are plenty great ones. Talent is not generational, it just shows up in different places.

  • @TruthInErnst And you are missing my point. I know our generation has talent as well. But my comparison is too show that in our generation , those are the most popular musicians. I know there are obviously other good musicians, but i was comparing mainstream music from different generations. that is all. There is no reason to read this much into it.

  • @joemchugh61 One could just as easily say "Pat Boone, Richard Harris, Bobby Goldsboro, Barry Manilow vs. Radiohead, TV On The Radio, Bjork, Nine Inch Nails....so glad I'm in this generation!" but this would be really stupid.

  • @TruthInErnst my comparison was between very popular music in their respected times.

  • @joemchugh61 Listen to "The Tallest Man On Earth", he sounds just like Bob Dylan. Gives me hope for our generation.

  • @chillbrobagg1ns Jesus he's good . had never even heard of him, thank you for showing me!

  • @joemchugh61

You could probably think of some contemporary artists that you like. Try Bright Eyes.

  • @joemchugh61 your such a douche for putting eminem in with those names. \

  • @puffinonindo Why? He's not any better.

  • @ZombiezFromDaHood Goddamit... another doucher

  • @puffinonindo You know I could say the same to you, but what's the point? I don't know you, and you don't know me, but I do know that Eminem is not a good artist. That's all I have to say.

  • Comment removed

  • @puffinonindo And why exactly is that?

  • @joemchugh61 eminems a dope ass musician. to group him with justin bieber nicki minaj and katy perry is just being a douchebag who hates on everyone who is new.

  • @joemchugh61 Eminem's legit but pop and most rap today are in disarrary and are complete shit. Don't close your eyes to today for the sake of yesterday.

That being said, the 60s-70s had much better music than we do..

  • @salterst I agree but I really dislike Eminem

  • @joemchugh61 eminem doesnt belong in that list... but yea i agree

  • @jigajigayeayea All he does is whine in his songs.

  • Comment removed

  • @joemchugh61 dude, the strokes, black keys, killers, frans ferdinand, mgmt, etc. bands are rockin all around you, you have'nt even gotten to zepplin, rush, floyd, police yet. keep rockin"!

  • @joemchugh61 eh man I agree with you this is music and I enjoy the classics just as much as the next man but please do not put eminems name in with justin bieber nicki minaj and katy perry...clear disrespect for someone who made it from nothing and made real music that had meaning wheather you like it or not.

  • Comment removed

  • @joemchugh61 your fucking annoying thats what youa re lol

  • @thaAverageGamer ohh is dat what i am derr byy? your english is annoying, fuckin hick.

  • @joemchugh61 I bet when you were typing that you had on a flannel, skinny jeans, and a winter hat too high up on your head.

  • @plech09 i own no skinny jeans, one flannel shirt and no wool hats. assumptions?

  • @joemchugh61 yeah but you still shouldn't put him in with those other artists because he makes real shit.

  • @puffinonindo i dont think he does. difference of opinions.

  • @joemchugh61 Thank goodness, someone with actual taste.... I'm surrounded by Beliebers where I'm at.

  • @joemchugh61 I'm glad I'm not you. I can enjoy music from any generation and not be a self righteous little twat about it. It's much more fun.

  • @DimentalLabs im glad im not you, bitchin on the internet for kicks

  • @joemchugh61 eminems not that bad. but i tottaly agree

  • @meaganfoxsleftboob im not a big fan. oh well. props on the username to bro got a kick outta that. hahaha

  • @joemchugh61 hahha thanks dude

  • the last time I gave a SHIT

    I GOT FUCKED

  • Everyone should hear this song. For those who don't know, there is a looming threat of WWIII. Russia is helping Syria's government kill its people, and America is about to intervene. Israel is about to attack Iran. America is on Israel's side. Russia and China will retaliate to any attacks on Iran. If you don't know where this is going, then stay ignorant, you don't want to know...

  • Art does not reside in perfect delivery. If you want that... use a damned camera. This man's art lies in the emotion embedded in his imperfect... gravelly... uncontrolled voice.

  • Can somebody please explain to me what you people see in this man. The only talent he has is writing a song and if you write a song you can usually sing it to this man couldn't beat a god damn ant in a singing competition

  • @Lperson24 i see somone who smoked weed, made the beatles smoke weed, then made the beatles famous ;P

  • @Lperson24 just stop

  • @Lperson24 wtf are you talking about?

  • @Lperson24 i literally hope you die, bob dylan is a fucking legend...

  • @Lperson24 stfu dude. you don't understand anything about music if you don't like bob dylan.

  • @Lperson24 Who gives a fuck what his voice sounds like? His lyrics are better than anything else on this shitsack planet, you dumb fuck.

  • I'm six months old and I think this song is beast.

  • Peace

  • he captures timeless wisdom, to timeless problems.

  • "The first one now will later be last." by far the best line probably ever.

  • Yes, Mr. Dylan, Yes they are...

  • THE VOICE OF JUSTICE!

  • JUSTIN BIEBER IS THE SHIT!!!

  • @devin007lake take out the "the"

  • Look at that nice Jew boy.

  • Timeless

  • what an inspiring melody.

  • If Justin Bieber can actually be popular, then the times definitely are-a-changing.

  • @ubernerd4 Why, why must comments like these still exist. I hate you, I fucking despise you. Your're probably a troll but I don't fucking care.

  • 38 people are too stupid to understand the brilliance of this song. probably republicans.

  • @jfredericks Don't be an idiot. Should just erase your comment. Don't bring political arguments on a video about arguably the most legendary man in musical history.

  • @jfredericks Can we not attach politics to everything for a few seconds? This is a timeless song, it could be the anthem of any cause, at any time. Screwing it down with your petty bias is only doing it an injustice.

  • @bellaluna423 It IS a political song, though - that was Dylan's intention when he wrote it.

  • Come writers and critics who prophesize with your pens

And keep your eyes open, the chance won't come again

And don't speak too soon, the wheel's still in spin

And there's no telling who that it's naming

Oh the loser will be later to win

For the times, they are a changing

  • Heard this version in the 420 Cafe in Amsterdam. Very nice.

  • The times they are a changing...

  • whats with his eyebrows....

  • @RickyBarstow

    He is Jewish bro...

  • the best protest song

    F U goverment

  • @burntnikka420 when the president talks to god - bright eyes, is also a good protest song
