This particular aria is my favorite and it happens to be quite difficult. Rolando does not perfoms it very well, it is a very very delicate sound you must give and at the same time it must be very powerful when going high. Although I'm voting I "Like" it to it.
I put a video response here, because Mr. Villazon has the biggest views of living tenors today.I want to advertise my voice to get more jobs.I like most in HIS singing, the burning PASSION in the voice. I start to think of others like Carreras,Di Stefano and Lanza. The passion and the beautyful color of his voice I like a lot.I dont have so passionate voice,my best is that I have good .high notes.I am often singing La donna e mobile with a C sharp in the cadenza.I hope you like my videos.karifrid
El dijo que eligio esta cancion y las de este disco porque lo tenian que hacer vibrar a el, para asi poder vibrar su instrumento y asi hacernos vibrar a todos y vaya q lo logro... Que belleza!!! esto es increible!!!

I've heard many tenors sing this aria (it's one of my favorites) but I've never heard it sung with so few breaths! Singing such long phrases with one breath takes its toll and I fear he paid for it with his ending notes... Non the less, I'm a big fan of Rolando. There are few tenors in his class.
Although i'm usually a fan of Rolando's voice, I feel that in this particular aria his voice is a little too spread and lacks a bit of the warmth needed to sing such a demanding aria and role. His onsets are a little abrupt for my liking. He can play with more colors....it seems very LOUD and forceful at times.
Estoy gratamente sorprendido por esta maravilla. Por supuesto no llega todavía al nivel de la versión de Bergonzi, pero está muy, muy cerca. Bravo Rolando, sigue así, que puedes ser de los más grandes.
This is a marvellous illustration of the sceneries of 'la gioconda, Venice and its
shores being the setting of the action.
Enzo is singing his love for his angel
Laura, while Gioconda is craving of love for him
and will save them both. I have never seen La Gioconda but through TEresa59's video so artistic, combined to music and Rolando's stylish voice I can feel the spirit of this opera. Many thanks to you Teresa59!It is wonderful to have Rolando Back in these off the beaten track realms .

Wow, his final note sounded just like Domingo's...throaty and pushed.

Love Rolando. However, I feel he covers the top note at the end; ie: he sings it slightly below full voice.

Muchas gracias teresa59. He gozado este aria
escuchando a: Björling, Corelli, Pavarotti.
Desgraciadamente ahora ya no están. Pero por
suerte tenemos a Rolando. Ciertamente Dios
aprieta pero no ahoga. Disfrutemosle.

Yo solo he tenido la
ocasión de oirle de cerca en Perelada hace
dos veranos. Me hizo descubrir una dificil
aria: Kuda Kuda. Deseo que ese dia lo
disfrutes intensamente.Adeu ¡¡

Beautiful pictures, thank you.
However, I don't think Cielo e Mar is right for Vllazon.
