i don't really get it - why this video should be published and get any kind of attention.
Are there any doubts that animals are slaughtered to get natural fur? Conditions don't look more extreme than an average Riga zoo small animal house. Compare this to a chiken laying eggs in a bigger plant, that seems more inhuman to me and we (everybody of us) use eggs every day in comparision to fur market which is a bit more elite niche.
@janiszogs Because fur is not a necessity in a first place. Because no living being wants to be trapped in a small cage for his whole life. Because the whole process of getting a "natural fur" is not natural. And many more BECAUSE.
@sigurdas Would you rather everyone wear non biodegradable clothing? Peta never seems to address the fact that animal skins are biodegradable and BETTER for the environment. Also, when one purchases a leather or fur coat they are much less likely to throw it into the trash bin after it's out of style. Some furs are handed down and worn for almost a century!
@caseyjonas86 I personally wouldn't prioritize biodegradability before animal cruelty. Moreover, the clothes CAN be both natural (ecological cotton for example) and cruelty-free.
@janiszogs In a way you are right - if we portray using animals for fur as unethical, it should also be explicitly pointed to other practices of animal exploitation. Nutritionists agree that vegan diet is healthful and nutritionally adequate, and it's clear that other uses of animals are also unnecessary.
To avoid confusion the message should be clear: this is unethical just like all animal use - to be ethically consistent we should be vegans and peacefully educate others about veganism.
