Ok, Let me just sum this up for everyone. In 1979 a guy name John Ross who attended Texas Southern University originated this song with a couple of his band members. Debuting this song against the best HBCU's marching bands Southern, Grambling, Jackson State and the rest, People felt this song alot. We have no problem sharing song in the SWAC and people wanted it, so they sold it. Bad mistake because hands down Southern University not only purchased this song but ABSOLUTELY plays it the best.
