  • Wow, I would have to throw rocks enough to dam up that deep hole and put a pond liner in there to catch many thousands of that wonderful water flowing past!

BTW, its REAL easy to make solar ice you should try it; ISAAC ice maker. Some poly mirror, iron pipe and an old chest freezer and you would have lots of ice made from solar heat. See: solarhaven [dot] org/AmmoniaAbsorptionIcemaker.pdf If nothing else, there is that hand vacuum pump with zeolite for making ice by hand.

  • beautiful

  • This one is my favorite, John! What will our property look like when it rains like that?!

  • Since our rainy season is 2 months long, that gives me 10 months to shovel it out...nice fine sand for concrete or rammed earth work.

  • This water contains so much sediment that as it slows in the pond it will settle out and eventually fill in the pond.

  • Man I'm really digging your off-the-grid home, I read your website and was surprised just how comfortable your living standards are while harvesting your own rain water and energy. Very cool. I was particularly impressed with the swamp cooling, I had never heard of such a thing.

You said that you had to buy bags of ice for cooling food/drinks, did you ever look into the possibility of a small efficient refrigerator?

  • I reckon its because I commented and rated it?

  • I'm really curious about youtube's search algorithm, because I was just at my arm-cutter-offer video, and this video was number 2 in the "related videos" section

  • Fun stuff, John.

  • i'll bet you're glad to got every drop. slower would be nice but anyway is good I guess.
