I bought and downloaded the Medieval 2 Total War: Gold edition from the Gamestop website, but I can't find the Teutonic Faction anywhere.

I went to Campaign mode, but I couldn't find the Teutonic faction symbol. Are they supposed to be unlocked somehow?

its not a faction, if u have the kingdoms than u can chose to play the campain.

The end of the teutonic order was thanks to the catholic church to put it briefly. The poles didn't do anything to harm the order.

well yeah, I know and the pope felt threatened by this and sent forth a decree to banish them. It was he that demanded the capture of these men and stand them to trial. The order then fell apart and simply moved to an unknown place and hid their treasure and blah blah blah.

The Teutonic Order was never disbanded, it was simply demilitarized, its still a religious order and it DOES exist as that, just no more weapons or killing. Still they have an amazing history of Service to God and the Killing of thousands in the Name of God. Very interesting organization.

We had many pathetic "trials" with them and becouse of Popes protection "justice" was in Teutons hands. Just after Poland raped order in thirteen years war, grand master becomed protestant Duke and our vassal, finally Pope moved this order where was its place.

Lithuanian Jogaila was polish king and he is said to lead that army, who defeated teotonic order. But it's not true. Grand duke of Lithuania Vytautas was leading that army to victory. There is very little more terrifying than teutonic ritterbruders mounted on barded horses charging at you. (They have a surprisingly good mobility and their fear instills in their enemy)

Lithuanians teached us some Tatars tactics. Lithuanian light cavarlary used "hit-&-run" tactic, involved big part of Teutons forces, which were destroyed by Polish heavy knights, just after destroying rest of it including Grand Master Urlich von Jungingen. That was last battle in medieval style (well partly...).

Well, Jogaila should just finised them, after 1410 they didn`t showed anything impressive, to became fief couple years later. The same Courland. Teutons were quite "good" for well 2ages... of killing some pagan peasants in Prussia and Livonia. HAHA

This is a game. "Loving" something in this game is not based on a moral judgment, instead of it's attributes, attack, defense etc. In other words, love is attributable to power, instead of right action.

I've just started playing today and I've just realised how extremely effective the halbbruder are against anything. My gosh, a halberd with a shield is a deadly combination. A very deadly combination. I also love those steel pauldrons that bulge out of their shoulders.

sounds good, a little advice is to fortify yourself against the southern teutonic provinces and ally with novgorod, the teutonics have alot of heavy infantry which is a severe problem.... lithuania have missile cavalry though so thats cool

oh erm....well for the teutonic campain i found the teutonic order to be the best because they have a very heavy army and it wont go down easy (plus crusaders show up to help) for brittania i found the welsh to be the best because their position is great to start in, for the americas i find the apaches the best as they grow quick and only face rebels early on and crusader i found jerusalem the best as their troops are heavily armoured and equipped
