  • There was a FF6 reference. This makes me happy.

  • @3:00 haha tetris

  • anyone know the song to buried graveyard?

  • You are a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in movie references.

  • does any1 notice the boo laser has the awesome face?

  • This level has to be the most well designed one i've seen so far in this hack.

  • 1. was I the only one who google'd "wooden snowflakes stuck in the sky"... xD

    2. Raocow = noun ; an enigma amongst an onion peel... somehow

  • I like at 0:54 how Mario looks up after the crack

  • People always make fun of me when I run into the lampost. :(

  • Heh, man, what a huge oversight with the house level thing. Hey, it was meant to be a use-a-carried-object puzzle, and Raocow used a carried object supplied to him. Fair is fair. :D

That other one, way too many environments and going-on-things (multiple levels in one level), but it still looked fun to play and wasn't over-complicated. Just way too long and varied. But cool anyway.

  • At 13:30 I was like, "He made a pun?" At 15:58 I was like, "Ohhhhhh... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

  • .erauqs si dlrow ehT

    <3

  • 3:55

    Did that shell change colors?

  • @relyt199 no, the pallet of dessert over townston is very yellow the dessert under townston is the normal pallet the shell was always green, it just got a new coat of paint

  • what kind of controller do you use to play on the zsnes?

  • I have to say, I don't really approve of all the global graphic changes. Though that might just be me, I just don't like the sprites for most of the enemies. I mean I've played hacks with graphics swaps and at least they're not using Super Mario World Redrawn's graphics but still, I just don't like the sprites for some of the enemies that's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

  • this guy sounds like yogi bear

  • Where was the midpoint on the second level? If not for raocow's very good playing he would have had to do a lot of replaying if he had died.

  • Great episode Raocow! Your joyfulness and random talks just made my day!

  • That's the closest you'll get to a Raocow Minecraft LP.

  • The desert isn't dead. It's just mostly dead. Just give it a miracle pill and it'll be fine. You'd better cover it with chocolate so it goes down smoother.

  • 6:59 - You drowned a fish... O_o

  • Why are you covered in hair? Because you're a mammal, silly!

  • This is a Boo of Circle. All Lunarmagicship is of the finest quality. It menaces with spikes of relatively useless.

  • When are you gonna start your next LP raocow? I mean, the other one is over and I'm not really 'feeling' this game.

  • Super Adventure Island Mario-World-Styled 2 Doki Panic Adventure Town Hampton is the best game I have ever played.

  • @InuYashafanboyee I dunno, the gameplay for Khrno Trigger Fart just has something that resonates more with me.

  • Raocow, you breached your contract of "dying within the first 2 minutes" you're fired.

  • lol man i don't think i've ever seen so many ppl white-knighting and tearing apart the way you're playing the game as much as I've seen for this LP.

  • "The world is square, and I want that Experience Egg!"

    Wow, you love FF6? Sweet.

  • 9:08

raocow- "Are obviously either insane or in denial"

Captions- "Are obviously insane or have been filed"

Transcribe audio with raocow is the best thing ever.

  • Huh. Yeah that one LVL with the P-Switch you didn't need was odd. Wonder what the secret behind it is? o.oa

  • i started playing this hack when raocow started. im finished yet and i have to say: for a smwcp...its realy bad. i mean the lvls are realy long. they pretend that you gonna use savestates, the layot is creative but very confusing from time to time. its just too much. the best thing in this hack is the music witch is just awesome! but still a great LP:)! Oh, and sry for my bad english. it isnt my native language.

  • @uybfi

There are only about... a dozen levels that are actually "longish", but and only a smaller number than that "encourage" tool abuse. Granted that this hack is flawed, it's nowhere to the point that you people are making it out to be.

  • @MrDeePay i dont knowif i get you . but ill try to answer. i never said that this hack isnt well made or a bad hack. i said for a SMWC production its not very good. they could do so much better. and i get the feeling that they want to much. too much lvls, too much stuff in the lvls, many lvls are too long. its still a very good hack. but these guys KNOW what to do to make a good hack. and i think they went a bit to far. hope you understand what i mean.

  • I wonder if Reading intended for his level to be beaten in less than a minute. If not, that's some pretty weak level design and play testing.

    ...

Was this hack actually play tested?

  • @posthumanfetus

Not well enough. Though it is rather amusing for a person notorious for relatively long levels (Reading) to have a breaker like that.

  • I notice in collab hacks that more than one person gets the creative idea of doing an oasis/water level in a desert. In a regular hack having one might be neat, but it's funny how there's usually less desert themed levels in the desert than other themed levels... in the desert world. And in collab hacks, deserts are awfully wet.

  • yeah we got a little emo parade goin on here

  • It's a sad day when all the people nerdraging for Raocow to play minecraft puts Minecraft in the related videos AGAIN but this time when NO ONE IN THE VIDEO HAS EVEN SAID ANYTHING TODAY!

In all seriousness... fail. Romhackers always gripe and grown about their levels being broken, and then they do something like the shell thing. Maybe if they had some semblance of IQ they could create a genuinely good level without the need to have annoying item manipulation segments with extra shells....

  • I love the song in Lakitu's Lag00n, what's it's name?

  • When i first saw the description, i thought it said Reading Lakitu's Lagoon

  • lol, LOVED the subtle Pokemon reference you made in the first level here. xD

  • @Nowraidond I defend myself by asking anyone who'd correct me if they'd seen a Pokemon map. lol, not really round, tbh. *one who read the comments and realized it may have also been a FFVI reference but also stands ground on personal interpretation* Idk, the Pokemon item may have been named something else, I just remember an egg-type-object-thingie from a Chancey that doubles EXP. Hence, EXP Egg. xD

  • @Nowraidond The Pokemon item was a Lucky Egg. And the puzzle to get the EXP egg in FFVI involved writing "the world is square" backwards on a tombstone. There's not really much room for interpretation.

  • @GauRocks Well, I was right on that. There was an egg item in Pokemon that doubled exp, and you can't travel in any given direction and loop around the world in Pokemon and can only view the world via a map, hence the "square" reference. Plus, FFVI was, unfortunately, the only FF game that I honestly don't remember much about or otherwise had practically memorized, which I blame on me rushing through the game. Thus, my incorrect interpretation on an obvious FFVI reference.

  • I think the odd disappearing blocks at around 10:00 are suppose to be like the sand blocks in SMB2. Maybe...

  • Reading some of these comments makes me sad. I remember the old days when everything in ROM hacking wasn't a gigantic pointless debate. Too bad those days are long gone.

  • @SNN135 You're a politeness debate, SNN!

  • hey kleinerkokiri nobody likes you

  • @LeodSMW cool

  • 15:23 lol you do realize no one is going to get that reference right?'

    SLANT SLANT SLANT SLANT SLANT!!!!1!!!

  • As we've seen, Mario haxing is srs bsns. If the designer did not want it broken, he would not have made it breakable. ^_<

  • But the Exp. Egg won't do Mario any good, he didn't learn how to level up til 1996!

    Wild cave pasta, luls.

  • I do actually like the new Boos. They have Charlie's helmet, only it's a hat.

  • It amazes me how easy that was to break the ghost house.

  • You've skipped quite a lot if I recall correctly, but honestly, it's not much of a loss. The part before the midway point is pretty much one long and rather complicated puzzle with switches 'n' shells galore, and I personally didn't find that part too enjoyable. (Don't get me wrong, Reading, the level's cool overall, it's just that part I didn't like.)

(This doesn't have a secret by the way, and neither does the next ghost house.)

  • Oh boy. More overused Yoshi's Island music.

  • 14:00 is the best Raocow Logic I've seen in a while.

  • Wiggly Squigly Fishes from Super Adventure Island Mario World Style 2 doki panic Adventure Town Anthem.

    Sure, everyone played this game.

  • Super Adventure Island Mario World-Style 2 Doki Panic Adventure Town sounds like a nice spot for a vacation.

  • "The World Is Square, I want that Experience Egg."

Nice little Final Fantasy VI reference there raocow. ;)

  • I actually was watching a bit of Mario Party 5 game play earlier, and two koopas got married in one of the mini games...

  • @KleinerKokiri But it wasn't on purpose, that's the thing. I was all 'where, there's this block squirreled away, and I got a shell here, let's see what it does!'

I'm willing to play levels on their own terms but that is a huge, HUGE mistake on the level designer part. At the time, I just had wasted my p-switch, so I was in a mood of 'okay, so there's something else that I need to do'. It's like the level asked me to do this, if you're observant.

  • @KleinerKokiri You know, this is the second video in a row you've had some sort of complaint against our good buddy raocow on. If your gonna knit pick then why not just skip watching the videos. I'm not saying raocow can't defend himself and such. But man c'mon, if your gonna complain, then just don't watch. Let people who just watch to be entertained watch. Your comments offset the videos for me.

  • @TypicalNerd27

Dude, would you please shut it ?

Neither did i ATTACK raocow nor did i complain. I even made that clear and the end of my comment, because i knew that some idiot like you would stand up. I just stated my opinion. Which happens to be different to yours. I am very sorry, that im not a mindless fanboy like you, without any sort of opinion, that is probably not even interested in Mario Hacking !

  • @KleinerKokiri Hey smartass, just because you say 'I'm not complaining' doesn't mean you didn't. Definition: to express complaints, discontent, displeasure. You are clearly expressing discontent when you make references to how you want the "old ways" back. You are a moron, but no offense. That's not an insult because I clearly stated, "No offense"

  • @Skope111 I like how you start with "hey smartass" then make a complete smartass post.

  • @AnUntitledStory I'm sorry, what the hell do you have to do with this exactly?

  • Comment removed

  • @AnUntitledStory I apologize, I got frustrated at the wrong person. But I was being a smartass on purpose... kind of in a "mimic the idiot" way.

  • @KleinerKokiri Bwoop! Bwoop! Bwoop! Sorry, pansy. You outed yourself as a troll! You lost your cool. You failed. Now leave.

  • @KleinerKokiri So are you going to be popping up everyday to complain or something?

  • @KleinerKokiri It is NOT disrespectful to beat a level without playing every single tiny part of it.

It's pointless to even make a level like that.

I bet you would be complaining back in other hacks when he didn't play every single part of a multiple choice level, like one which was in a switch palace.

  • @AnUntitledStory

That's not a "single part" and this wasn't a "multiple ways" level.

    >It's pointless to even make a level like that.

I admit that the Koopa Shells in the very beginning are a heavy design flaw. I cannot possibly argue this.

But what you do right now is basically ignoring the whole level and focussing on this thing that raocow did, saying that the WHOLE level was pointless. That's the impact it caused on you.

  • @KleinerKokiri The whole level is pointless.

  • @KleinerKokiri You're a moron

I'm not insulting you or calling you names ... I just think your an idiot.

    see what i did there?

  • 7:28 It's called a Trouter. Just throwing that out there.

  • Clever "shrink" pun! XD

  • 7:08 Bottom left corner, surprise murder it seems!

  • who the hell makes a puzzle level based in the solo purpose of finding a shell using objects manipulation but forgets those 3 koopas at the very start?

  • @iDelanex

it's not impossible that they were added by someone else after the level was submitted

  • @iDelanex More importantly, who the hell plays through a level like that without taking advantage of such an obvious exploit?

The answer to that is me. I never realized...

  • @iDelanex Would have been fine with a door entrance...

  • Raocow's word of the day: Savage! :)

  • "The world is square. I want that experience egg."

    Nice one.

    Real nice, an FF6 reference.

    More respect to ya Raocow.

  • "the lock was in a place called looooove"

    that was beautiful man ;_;

  • Hahahahaha, wild ravioli blocks, underground in the middle of the desert. The Mushroom Kingdom is a weird place!

  • GOOD STUFF!

  • YO TO YOU!

    :P
