What do the ships have to do with capturing the outpost, does anything on the ground affect the battle of the ships in the air?

@DeathWillAlwaysDream Well, in Eve-Online universe capsuleers are technological demigods that are limited only by presence of other demigods, considering the value of their time (millions of ISK per hour is an average, and new fully tech 2 fitted battleship is rarely more than two-three hours work for experienced player) and expenses of their ops they won't talk to you very often. That time could be put to better use, i.e. getting money to fund their mercenaries :)

Wrong about the non tactical side its ccp we are talking about. From EvE online it can be seen that there is alot of consequences for dying and they will most likely implement that into dust 514.

look towards eve though. while you *can* get by doing solo, the real heart of the game is the single-server everyone-in sorta stuff. Can you imagine 100s of people on a map (rather than a system) at a time. Makes me smile. :)

it's a pre-alpha build.

and you dont' get everything, it's kinda like dota, where you start with nothing more thana basic gun, and you get war points as you get kills or help secure points.

Thus you level per match , everyone starts at level 1.

So the idea is that if you get lots of kills early on you'll be able to tech up one of my trees taht only lasts that one match.

my point was in this video it IS a GM playing, and he is playing with GM POWERS.

In the real game you have to choose a path or spread out.

my whole post was about how you CANT be a on man army.

you can be an elite sniper, or an explosives expert. You can drive a tank instead, or buy a jet. But you can't be a one ,man army, wwhere do you get this idea?
