  • There really is nothing wrong with discovering pieces of music from movies or books or what have you. If 4000 teenage girls are listening to Debussy because of Twilight, so be it. As long as we can appreciate these pieces of beauty together, it doesn't matter where you found it, or that it's more "pure" to be a fan from the beginning.

  • Makes me think of the end of the World.

  • Everybody knows you like throwing oranges at the Priest! Even the Priest knows! :D fave movie of allllll timmeeeeee.... King's speech is pretty good too.

  • Anyone else think they've heard this in Lion King before?

  • awesome

  • It's the best compossing of THe year and year and year,....

  • I'm no hipster, but I look forward to the day when people can appreciate the work of the geniuses of this all-too-often overlooked era. It would be nice if more people didn't have to watch a Hollywood blockbuster to appreciate Beethoven's brilliance.

  • @aaron8862006 You are exactly right about beautiful music and blockbuster ;)

  • I had heard this song before in my life enjoying it greatly but finally forgetting about it until being reminded by 'The Fall'. There are few things better than being reminded of something good you let slipped your mind.

  • I hate England and how this song is now linked to its disgusting monarchy.. who have done nothing but create conflict and disaster in the world to get themselves rich and elevated into their gilded thrones where they look at you as children look at insects.

  • @shinzomoon Depends on monarch. Almost every country had good and bad people in charge, England isnt an exception. The truth is, hoever, that despite beging against nazies, they only defended their country, leaing their allies alone.

  • @TheJustCreative @shinzomoon 1. The English monarchy stopped having real power in 1707, the country having since been governed by a Parliament. 2. Confused how the monarchy "have done nothing but create conflict and disaster in the world" despite being reduced to a figurehead status. 3. True, in WW2 Britain reneged on the Polish-British Common Defence Pact, but entered in the war in mid-1940 eventually helping free France, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy & Germany from fascist rule. You're welcome.

  • 7:36 gives me goosebumbs everytime

  • I think about while listening & playing on my viola to this beautiful op. Beethoven saying "Can you hear me because I can't hear you." I read a book that much of all of you know, he was mostly death and created this piece.

  • I'm crying while i'm listening to this. It's just that classic music is so special ...nothing can compare!!!

  • like if the movie Knowing brought you here..

  • @62494nicole oh hell no... Don't tell you me you needed movies to find Beethoven... although "knowing" is a good one.

  • Soundtrack of The Fall movie. Song is amazing, film is way better... Just love Beethoven.

  • @NazBuhsem The music brought me here I broke the cd...lol. But the beginning of Tarsem's movie was hard to describe with this symphony before the movie started. It traps you, but then again I play the viola. So I feel you :)

  • @jonesver That made me happy! :) The film is obviously the film of my life. Every single detail and all of the characters... It's just perfect. Faultless! I watched it at least for dozens of time and I decided to find the soundtrack too, so it can make me feel in a great mood, every single time when I Iisten it... Beethoven is great. Tarsem is awsome. Dan and Nico are brilliant!

  • Just listen to the piece, it's not film trivia.

  • Like if you're listening to this magnificent piece after watching Knowing

  • i was trying trying to find out this beautiful music. finally finally :D

  • I love this piece so much! First heard it at the end of Knowing, then in The Fall (excellent film, by the way), Irreversible (very sad), and recently in The King's Speech, which just sent chills down my spine! This man was a musical genius! How did he ever come about composing such a masterpiece?! So haunting yet so beautiful and majestic!

  • Love this piece. It's also in a film called Photographing Faries.

  • Oh bliss! Bliss and heaven! Oh, it was gorgeousness and gorgeousity made flesh. It was like a bird of rarest-spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a spaceship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures!

  • Wonderful!!!

  • In this grave hour, perhaps the most fateful in our history, I send to every household of our peoples, both at home and overseas, this message, spoken with the same depth and feeling for each one of you, as if I were able to cross your threshold and speak to you myself.

For the second time in the lives of most of us, we are at war. Over and over again, we have tried to find a peaceful way out of the differences between ourselves and those who are now our enemies.

But it has been in vain.

  • @GhostPlanetFilms the same that i thouth when i listened XDD

  • @alvargonsl :)

  • @GhostPlanetFilms

well done. well done indeed. liked the movie, love this music

  • @goldenmarie2555 Glad I could contribute!

  • @GhostPlanetFilms THERE MAY BE DARK DAYS AHEAD

  • @TexasTrent254 THERE IS HOPE FOR THE FUTURE!

  • @GhostPlanetFilms The only peaceful solution is also the solution to end our bonds together by severing leaders from their thrones and not replacing them which in return damages the bonds we created and past leaders have created mankind is not meant to be lead or to be ruled but to live together help one another and we may never do this as long as there is a leader to make the choices for us we are they are children and we are the ants it dose not matter who leads or for what purpose,

  • @GhostPlanetFilms There will always be the time they get a piece of lass on a brightly lit day. How ever there is always a day when the child gets too close to the ants and the ants bite them. Our enemies are our friends our friends are enemies of our enemies and so forth,The truth being is there are no differences between mankind as we are all flesh, blood, bone we do not think differently either as well all believe in a maker we all know we are going to die we also believe in eternal paradise

  • so here i am ..listening to this on my iphone while i take my first steps on the moon ...

    i wish :(

  • Perfectly used at the end of Noe´s Irreversible (2002)

  • Goosebumps.. an unbelievable masterpiece.

  • What a masterpiece

  • hahahahahaha @kokomokox

  • Beautiful.

  • Hah!, you motherfuckers! I was the 2nd dislike! Wa haha haha wahaha HEEE HAAAAAAA HAHAHAH YEYEYEYEYHAHAHAHHAHHAH*cough**choke*HYUK . HYUK . *cough* *saliva penetrates my monitor screen* *rolls over laughing to death and fracturing my ribs as all i can do is helplessly laugh for an eternity. And if anyone asks why i can even comment if i am laughing for eternity, i got better!: SHES A WITCH

  • THAT SONG REMINDS ME THE END OF EVERYTHING!!

THE TIME WE'RE GONNA FALL, AND THE WORLD WILL BE IN PEACE AGAIN!

  • this was in the movie Knowing (:

  • Soundtrack of The Fall, most awesome movie

  • clearly there is a group of people dedicated to searching youtube for the most unlikley possible shit to hit the dislike button for

  • alrught just who the fuck 'dislikes' beethoven

  • 0:52-1:37 O.O

  • Irreversible

  • @bleachybromst just watched it, the hardest part to bear was the ending. Beethoven's genius masterfully aggravated the nauseating feeling in my stomach when I realised the full extent of the tragedy that had unfolded in that film. One of the saddest movies I have seen in recent years.

  • @fialidia what movie are you talking about?

  • @m3liee13 Irréversible, directed by Gaspar Noé.

  • @fialidia thank you

  • @m3liee13 think theyre talking about the fall

  • @flyinghaggis89 They are, but there was this other movie called irreversible. That's what i was asking for.

  • @fialidia Agreed: I studied it for a research paper I was doing for class. The entire film is so heartbreaking and mind shattering, I really don't think you can come out of watching it the same as you were when you started.

  • After I heard this in "knowing" I instantly fell in love. It accompanies the solar flare/ End of the world sequence oh so perfectly..

  • YES! Finally after hearing bits of this song used in various media, I got to hear the original song. Thank you for the upload.

  • i havent seen the fall and the kings speech kinda bored me so i walked out of the room my flatmates where watching it in

i heard this on Knowing, i like it :-D

a peacefull yet sad peace of music

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO TELL US BEETHOVEN???

  • If only this could have been in Fantasia somewhere.

  • AFTER SEEING KNOWING, EVERYTIME I HEAR THIS SONG .. I FEEL SUCH AN OVERWHELMING FEELING OF SADNESS

  • Makes me feel powerful.

  • This is the absolute finest symphony ever composed. My favorite! <3

  • Amazing ! used perfectly in the kings speech !

  • Inglorious Basterds.

  • @TheChampion613 what about it?

  • @bigmathafaka .........people were commenting with what movies they heard this song in.

  • @TheChampion613 but that wasn't on the soundtrack

  • @bigmathafaka i just watched it. and heard this. must be uncredited.

  • I know I've heard it somewhere before the kings speech. Must be in another movie about blood thirsty Nazis they used this song in.

  • 1 dislike,it's to mush for such a piece of art

  • @HerasBoss

Unless it's about the quality. A masterpiece like that certainly deserves to be heard in a better bitrate. ;)

  • used in SO MANY movie, but I could never think of the name until today, when I found it :D phew!

  • @Hawaii04beach

Many indeed. I would say this is the most used. Though, half the time they increase the tempo or build off of a piece of it at a higher pace.

  • The definitive piece for the composer, and the defining piece for the period....

  • its too bad they soiled its name by using it in the knowing

  • @SuperKJman true.

  • its too bad they soiled its name by using it in the knowing

  • the fading light that flashes up one last time and illuminates everything and all the darkness has to flee...

  • "In this grave hour..."

  • Absolutely awesome piece of classical music..

  • ol' Ludwig van!

  • This piece is used VERY well in the Johnny Mad Dog trailer.

  • and he was deaf ... where are today's geniuses

  • @ruthzitron well, you aren't one of them...

  • @ruthzitron

Everywhere you're just not looking in the right places.

  • I'm listening to this drunk and it's like an orgasm thumbs up if you tried it and you agree with me

  • @joehainn Im listening to this pureness while smoking joint and i can say its 300% better then on alcohol ;)

  • @psychOpicka I'm gonna try this right away my friend

  • this sounds great at the end of the world at knowing(2009)

  • Amazed by it in The Fall. Appreciated it's use in Knowing (which surprised me in general). Worked perfectly for The King's Speech, but a little worried now about overexposure, but not too much. Just saw Zardoz on TV a few nights ago...which was magnificent and terrible. It used the song oh so well though, but I can't fault it for overexposure since it was one of the first. Love the song, but let us allow it to rest and quell, so that it might stay powerful, at least for now.

  • Genial!

  • i like... high five

  • AMAZING!

  • everyone knows that "the knowing" used this the best. absolutely masterfully might i add.

  • Comment removed

  • i would love to hear a version with a piano-vilolin duet

  • even more masterfully used in 'irreversible' :)

  • always makes me think of The Fall

  • Brilliant.

  • knowing fan hands up :D

  • Mann... I can't listen to this one without being freaked out... Irreversible ruined it for me, haha

  • Masterfully used in The King's Speech (2010).

  • @Matuxmatux without a doubt

  • @Matuxmatux Even more masterfully used in "The Fall"

  • @Matuxmatux It was choking me up, one of the greatest speeches done, along with one of the greatest music masterpieces, was a real emotional bomb. AMAZING!

  • @CCRkunk88 It was indeed a dark time in this world and many men and women took a stand against evil of the worst kind. Now, just a few decades later...we've all but forgotten these heroic figures that gave people the hope to carry on in the face of great odds.

  • @Matuxmatux as well as in "Knowing"

  • @Matuxmatux meh

  • @Matuxmatux and Zardoz.

  • @dragonfly4200 and Knowing ...

  • @Matuxmatux

... and in the same way at the end of Noe´s Irreversible (2002)

  • @bunglerie I've seen that movie, but I can't remember this being in the end of it. But I loved the movie!

  • exquisite

  • a freakin mastermind. excuse me while i go skip around in a meadow.

  • @JBgurl4life11 You will want his sixth symphony for that.
