This still sounds great, whether it's "unique" or not, it's good shit, a lot of these bands who maybe doing something different or "unique'' usually suck, and not because they're doing something different but because the garbage they make sounds horrible. I can play thrash with a banjo and triangle and it would be something different with my own "twist" but that wouldn't make it better than some "generic" thrash bands, so really.. who gives a shit? Good shit is good shit.

There's nothing new nor innovative about the music; the only reason people like this is because it fulfills their preconceived notions as to how death metal should sound. Now, Gorguts, Flourishing and Monolith Deathcult, on the other hand? Those are bands with a twist.

@kaiserscott I really don't see anything wrong with that, usually when you strain from your roots it sounds like shit. Some bands do their shit well (whether it's unique or not) and some don't simple as that really.

@slayyer000 Then I suppose we should just agree to disagree, as nothing I say will sway your opinion, just as yours won't sway mine. I seem to be of the opinion that latter day Gorguts is talented (which they are) and genre stagnation is a bad thing, whereas you're the exact opposite.

@kaiserscott Fair enogh, 'though I must agree that later Gorguts is really talented, I just don't like their sound. I think their first 2 albums are infinitely better, but I am sure you'll disagree with that as well. We all have different opinions, so fuck it. haha

@ShittakeBukakke Nile is overrated and not even that great, also this is much different than Nile, the only similarity is that they'er Egyptian themed. This is much darker and just better.
