To the fellow who said it drowned and that it can't swim..according to the wikipedia entry for the Plumed basilisk, "In Costa Rica, this [ability to run on water] has earned [it] the nickname Jesus Christ lizard. It is also an excellent swimmer and can stay under water for up to 30 minutes."

Just so you all know, this basilisk drowned. If you watch closely, it fell into the water right before it hit land, and basilisks can't swim. This is common, some of them over-estimate their ability and under-estimate the distance.
