why are you not shrugging! are you not straining your back doing that?

He is definitely shrugging. The camera angle isn't the best to see it but watch the position of the traps relative to the head at the completion of the pull.

While a better shrug would certainly help I certainly don't consider the shrug to be the most important technical aspect of a clean pull.
