its called ado advance door opening. its ment to make you think the lift is coming into floor level more quickly. and yes i work for stannah lifts...... im one of there many enginners
I guess by the time you get past where the door is it would be at level I guess... Oh have you got any new installations coming up? I would like to film them :)
It is indeed advance door opening. The principle is that the doors start to open as the lift goes into slowing and so reduce the amount of time it takes for the doors to open when the lift is at floor level. There is no risk to users since the actual door panel prevents them from being in a situation where they can actually trip (even with heavy books). This is usually more evident on faster lifts serving more floors, it helps with traffic flow.
I think you are right, the amount of time 1 and a half seconds to level when the doors are open the person is just walking past the doors so it's just in time.
Watch my Stannah Elevator at Hobbie Craft in Romford, That hydraulic lift does not level either. I think those cheap hydraulic lifts stannah make always level out when the doors are opening, Watch jackotis97's channel for the Stannah Elevator at Zavvi In romford mall. That one is bad to.
Must be in England. They're called "Lifts", and there's a floor 0. Here in the States, it's either "G" (Ground), "L", or "LL" (Lower Level), or "B" (Basement).
It's european standards!! the floor designations are 0 for the main floor of the building and then 1 2 3 4 for floors above that and -1 -2 -3 for floors below it. The main floor also needs to be raised and be green!
We also use that :-) most of the lifts in my area use G as the main floor "Ground" and then 1-2-3-4 above and either L1-L2-L3-L4 which means Lower 1-2-3-4 or -1 -2 -3, UK Lift Company normally use that type if you watch some of my videos.
Very nice elevator and I really like the chime and every single think of the elevator.

Gosh, Mr Healey, that's a bit harsh, isn't it. :-)

Isn't it a bit dangerous? Picture this:
Granny (has got some books) steps in. Clicks ground. When the doors open poor granny stumbles and trips (with the heavy books!) Ouch!

True but we do in the UK use the symbols LL, B, G but since this is a library I think they chose a 0 since it's easier to read for the elderly.
harrihealey02 2 years ago
Weird. Here it is, but interresting, nonetheless.
