  • Should have released 100 tigers.

Or filled Ikea with water and released 100 dolphins.

  • it does make a good advert, but didnt they end up with a load of scratched furniture and mildly traumatised felines?

  • Amazing advert, this so makes me want to move in my own flat right now (allready own it, but im not allowed to move in there yet xD ) and buy my own little cat (which I will surely do)

  • okay this is "making of ikea cat video" .....where is the cat movie ??

  • Some of those cats look the same, how could they tell which was theirs?

  • @ShareYourUnderwear i think you would notice your cat if you see it. And you havent seen the cats long enough to notice the differences between them ^^

  • 3:54 is to cute for this world

  • this still makes me well up!

  • AWWWWWWEEEH-3 so cute ^_^

  • 0:50 That's just cute

  • @DissYraiN Nope. That would be Beatles Concerts.

  • Dozens of hairy pussy's-heaven

  • i love cat, everybodie wants to be a cat

  • i wish I could have been there haha

  • 100 Cats loos at IKEA

  • Gorgeous! 0:49 is my favorite bit.

  • Wonderful.

  • i literally dont know what im watching

  • i want to watch the final video of this weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • Fantastic¡¡¡

  • Wow... CHRIS BROWN huh? =)

  • To everyone who worried about people with allergies having an allergic reaction to the cat dander, remember this was done in England. The conversation would go like this:

Customer: Excuse me, Salesperson, but I seem to be having an allergic reaction to one of your chairs.

Salesperson: Oh, yes. We had about 100 cats roaming around in here last night. It was great fun!

Customer: Oh, terribly sorry. I didn't realize. Sounds like a smashing good time. I'll just take this chair then.

  • @yummmi9710 Hey, that's... actually... yeah... but with more passive aggression.

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • I luv the ending with the kitty snuggled under the comforter.

  • This is great

  • I love the advert but feel a tad sorry for the cats

  • @kimothymoomin Why? They got to roam around in a big interesting store with other kitties all night.

  • I cant believe i didn't think of this! - Brilliant advert :)

  • why are all of those cats Maine Coons?

  • @darkxhampster Not all of them are. I see a lot of Turkish Vans in there. You could tell they choose mostly light white and tan colored cats save for the few tabbies and calicos. There's plenty of Europeon short haired cats (a.k.a your common house cat) too.

  • I am by no means a kitty person, but i love the slow motion!!

  • brilliant!!!

and great idea to conclude it with this magnificent piece of music

  • felines are so damn cool!! <3

  • That made me feel happy inside. :)

  • 2:14 HOLY SHIT

  • dang i guess i cant go to ikea cause i'm allergic to cats >.<

  • cool video :P but imagine customers going through stuff and they see like a cat poop in the bath tub or on a sofa xD

  • so what did they do when there was cat poop all over the furniture and the cats scratched up stuff?

  • Cats Kittens Oh the jion to be around all of that if your a fan fan like myself

  • I really don't like this whole idea. Very stressful for the cats. But 3:49 is quite beautiful with the music.

  • @XceptingDeniall You're right, it would be very stressful for my cat. She wouldn't like it at all. But my sister's cat would revel in it. In watching this video you could see by their behaviour both with their owners and running around Ikea that they were enjoying it. Cats are naturally curious, and I think if an owner saw his or her cat didn't like it, they'd take them home.

  • pre-assembled swedish cats run amok in defenseless store ! news at 11.

  • @32qazx UK.......

  • @CallumJ230 _If the cats had been english, they would have worn bowler hats ! have some tea...

  • @32qazx I dont even know what bowler hats are

  • Love cats but this might have been more interesting if it were 100 cats and one dog ;-).

  • Lol that cat that pulled off that wind dampening thingy from the mic XD

  • I don´t like it! Poor cats!

  • @TheLiakatz how are they poor? they got a chance to interact and explore a totally new area, must have been exciting for them. (and they would have had plenty of room to escape from aggressive cats)

  • @2.45 - Absolutely hilarious how that cat just punches the kitten off the chair. Made my day.

  • I can't believe it!! This is soooo cruel to the cats IKEA people should all be tossed off a cliff and run over repeatedly by steam rollers!

    haha, couldn't resist ;p

  • What surprises me is how they never showed the cats breaking or shredding anything! LOL I mean they crawled over everything and NONE of them broke ANYTHING?!

  • If I saw those naughty kitty babies start fighting each other and bullying each other, I'd start smacking em! Yeah I believe in corporal punishment! Because the Bible says 'Spare the rod, spoil the kitty'

  • Aww that Sphinx cat at 1:22 is actually a pretty one, he's so cute! Aww!

  • This is the great Ikea's commerisial ever =)

Cats are beautifull and the video, especially in the end, makes something move in my soul.

  • @TitarenkoAleksey This is one of the best and most moving commercials I've ever seen.

  • 0:53 With my pointy predator claws and clever predator paws, I caught a fuzzy microphone cover!

  • LIKED THIS VID---LOVE CATS--they are so adorable and loving in their own way

  • Very long and a bit boring ad.

  • What happened to these cats after the ad shoot? Did Ikea help to find them homes? Where did they even come from? This kind of borders on abuse anyway you look at it. Cats aren't dogs and they're not playthings to be herded around like cattle either. Anyone know the background on this ad?

  • @adamatova A lot of the cats (64) were owned by a lady who trains them for such things. She said in this documentary that all though some of the cats did fight that they were all cared for well by the owners. She happened to own the sphynx cat as well.

personally I think it's a wonderful idea that has worked well.

  • @Lukasz1234577 - It worked well for the company - nobody knows how these cats are kept and how they fared after the shoot aside from what is written in the media. Let Ikea show the people how these cats live day to day. Bottom line it's exploitation of animals and should be banned. It's the same kind of entertainment that sinks into the consciousness of kids who see this kind and think anything is fair game and that animals are here to exploit.

  • @adamatova You seriously believe that? This episode wouldn't have made any difference to how the cats were being treated at home. I'd be happy to let my two awesome cats join in, if only I'd seen the volunteer signs Xo

  • Highest concentration of pussy England has ever seen.

  • It was a good ad by the end (wasn't it in the top 20?), very cute, and the cats seemed happy in it, but the making of it...I can't help but wonder what they did when they started fighting. Stand there and laugh? But knowing animal-lovers were involved makes it easier to enjoy. My cats would be terrified, but I guess that's just their personalities.

  • AWESOMEST VIDEO EVER! :)

  • saw it on tv

  • shoppers unware in 30min!!??? i have serious cat alergies wtf is this!!!?

  • Knowing that high level feline stress does produce weakened immune systems hence illness, and since cats are territorial, this experimental ad presentation must have been extremely stressful for them! Although it did appear that they were closely monitored and well cared for by their keepers, I don't find the idea particularly clever or humanitarian.

  • This is fucking cruel.

    Expect us.

  • @ChickenFriedFabrizio How's it cruel?

  • @cbader92 They are scared

  • @ChickenFriedFabrizio Not many of them looked scared, in my opinion... I was scared too, when I started at my new school :)

  • nawwwww ^.^ That is sooo cute!

  • the most beautiful ad EVER <3

  • FINALLY cats being presented in a POSITIVE light on tv! This commercial is long overdue!

Plus the slow motion footage is gorgeous!

  • I am sure none of these cats were feelling home neither "happy inside".

  • @adelanteman Then why did they start sleeping then at the end?

  • The revolution has begun!

  • lol!!! "go cats go!"

  • i LOVE kitties. these are so cuties

  • @sweetie4u Well yes not all cats have the type of dander for people to get allergic to. A few of them don't attack people with their dander.

  • But what was the point?!

  • @youngestmm what do you mean? It's for the commercial...

  • @pemchem i didn't understand either - probably because that commercial was never aired in my country.... someone should really explain!

  • @roni1983 Hmm, I think it's kind of hard to explain. I think it means that when cats are really relaxed, like the white cat and the orange cat in the bed at the end, that means that they're in a familiar place, like home. So that's what IKEA is trying to show? You're right, when you think about it, it's kind of hard to really explain the point of the commercial. But it's still a really nice one :)

  • @pemchem Your logic doesn't add up. There is also dark furniture in the store. White hair on dark furniture is just as much a bitch to get off as dark hair on white furniture.

  • Best add ever!

  • I love cats!!

  • wtf people pampering their cats for the camera

  • @mermaydlondon The problem is, the commercial took place in a real environment where thousands of shoppers actually walk through and eventually 1 of them is bound to have cat allergies I guess. Haha. XD

  • Nice work creative team. NICE work accounts team for selling this in!

  • what if someone highly allergic to cats went shopping the next day, sits on a couch then has a bad reaction and God knows what else? what then? IKEA just goes 'hmmm no idea how that could have happened'

I mean, wtf is the point??

  • @LOZlaura If you noticed afterward they were vacumning and probably made sure the place was super clean just in case something like that happened. In my opinion, it is a great commercial and I absolutely love cats anyways.

  • @Gman6755 Actually, it's probably more clean than before.

    Less rats.

  • That makes me feel happy inside.

  • how can 352 people not like this idea

  • I think it's really beautiful :)

  • great idea but i like dogs better

  • I like how their reasoning for this whole thing was 'Why the fuck not?'.

    Also, kittens! :3

  • @MadScientist08 More people should use that sort of reasoning

  • HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY NOT LIKE THIS?????????????

  • OK rant over, I own a beautiful cat who will not do anything he doesn't want to. If I'd taken him along he would have either stayed in his carrier or found somewhere to curl up and go to sleep. I think this ad is fantastic and not in any way cruel.

  • cats are amazing.

  • That made me feel happy inside. :)

  • Europeans...

  • @shawbaby1111 correction, the enligsh

  • Oh ikea you and your crazy ideas

  • Love this, but why no black cats and barely any gray or multi-colored cats? White cats are overrated :/

  • @yumadtho I imagine it has a lot to do with the idea of white as 'clean' and 'pure'. plus, it limits the amt of black hairs on the furniture!

  • @yumadtho I love all cats.

  • wouldn't they be worried the cats would ruin the merchandise?

  • "Soon shoppers would stream through the doors again, unaware that half an hour before a hundred felines were roaming free in the shop." This is madness! (Or possibly Sparta.) Won't someone please think of the allergics! I'm so not going to IKEA now.

  • This is one of my favorite YouTube videos

  • @gleeisawesome120

    Mine too :)))))))))))))))))

  • they most of been stoned to think of this lol

  • How many are Obama voters?

  • @catcookie I give you credit!

  • Ikea is a great place to take your cat - my cat and I often go there at weekends. Sometimes he likes to go off and do his own thing like playing in the soft play area, other times he will just relax on one of the beds reading a glossy magazine. Often, he likes to walk round the store with me, picking out fixtures and fittings for our new pad. He has a real eye for contemporary interior design and is considering a career change in that area.

  • Why are they all so WHITE? I call this really quite a cat-racist kind of ad. There are no blacks or tabbies whatsoever. What are IKEA trying to say??

  • @qetzel I have to say I did find it weird how there wasnt that much variation with the cats. I was expecting alot of tabbies since they're so common....but no. This makes me feel Ikea was specifically looking for whites cats for some reason. I wonder how many were females or males.

  • @qetzel white cats look better besides I saw one black kitten at 3:24

  • @qetzel Dude, chill out!

  • @qetzel don't be such a twat! The cats were all colours and sizes. There WERE ginger ones who are the butt of many jokes. Don't make it into something it is not.

  • @qetzel It sounds like you don't know that cats come with cat HAIR. They shed. A lot. So it would make sense to have white cats when a lot of the furniture is light colored. Yes, there will still be hairs that the cleaners won't be able to get off, but they won't show as much as dark hairs. Know what I mean?

Plus, they're just cats, not people!

  • MR BIGGLESWORTH!

  • Wow everyone needs to chill out... you can see that the cats are not stressed... they're exploring. And as for the person who says they will get injured and left behind don't be so stupid, why is it any different from wondering round a house full of furniture? And clearly they're not just going to leave a cat in the store. I am a massive animal lover and stand against any sort of animal cruelty and can see this is a great advert :) x

  • lol, transcribe audio 1:38 'and it does seem that simpson could have gotten into the system is seriously wrong with that'

    lol

  • Really cool advert, not so cool experiment in terms of stress given to the cats. :(

Still, we are slaves to cats and their cute fluffy selves are the cause of much havoc for us at home, as far as i know my cat does nothing all day while I feed and house it, so they need to give back to a worldwide community at some point. :D

  • 2.22 Stewie Griffin

  • the cats are confused, scared, they could get serious injuries if they stuck, and they are (naturally) fighting. yeah, real cute and funny.

  • @tehtailija oh SHUT UP

  • Holy shit 2:38 Hellen Mirren has really let herself go

  • my kitty should of been in there she love tv! she watches it herself!

  • Best. Experiment. Ever.

  • Last cat is the best.

  • Shame :( Lots of scared and stressed out cats. Not funny.

  • @KimB1960 Totally agree Kim. Cats are not toys:(

  • "Blackpool's Devilish Desires"? wtf?

  • That's a LOT of excrement.

    But seriously, awesome.

  • Starting to get bored with YouTube until I came across this.

    Loved it !

  • Super kawaii~~~

  • Beautiful shot at 3:20!

  • this really does make me smile and feel all happy inside, amazing one of the best ads ive seen in a long time, well thought of :)

  • Very nice film going to watch the advert now. Kunzy 3000 I hope a frozen chunk of shit falls out of an aircraft lands on your head and doe's us all a favour.

  • I adore this ad. I adore cats I have 4 of my own

  • I LOVE IT!!!!!!

  • Dogs have owners,

    Cats Have Slaves!

thumbs up if you love cats
