@Metalcastr I think the most important thing is a goal to work towards. For me it was having a high speed camera. Having a goal drives you to learn and do things. Find a project you want to build and work towards that. Other than a goal, start with the basics and work your way up, researching things needed to get to your goal. An engineering degree may be more or less helpful depending on the person. Reading manufacturer's app notes and electronics forums is really helpful.
