Awesome stuff. I bet your lungs were frying when onto the 9rep stage.
Some people just do not get how taxing Kettlebells are. And when pairing with a staple bodyweight exercise like pullups its an amazing endurance workout.
After doing workouts like that i have to laugh at the whole bodybuilding style training with plate loaded machines that don't ever challenge your core. Also the kettlebell snatch should not hurt your wrist as much as a powerclean with bar. Technique is very important.
do some research, man. some of the most explosive athletes in the world now use kettlebells. also the kipping pull up puts way more power in your hips than that body building crap.
@rygutz1 There is still definitely a place for dead hang pull-ups and chin ups though (just as one should both press and jerk), and I'd like to see CrossFit prescribing them more often.
well... when in a crossfit class... ya got the ladies all around man! so i ain't hate'n! i'm all about some ladies gett'n down with their badass selves!

this seems like a surefire way to injure yourself. check back with this dude in 20 years and i bet he will have a royally fucked lower back and carpal tunnel.
I have been training with kettle bells for about 2 months now and yes I was out of shape when I started and I am still out of shape. However, anyone who knows how to do this exercise knows how effective this exercise kicks your butt.
I am not knocking this dude's skill's so don't take this as a cock measuring contest. BUT, where was I when control and form went out the window? Ballistic training has it's place and it's very effective but it still requires you to keep form or injury is certain to come eventually. Again, not knocking this dude personally, God knows there are 5,000 videos on Utube with people SWINGING KBs in the air. Just don't get it.
What do you mean? The Swing is a the most basic exercise you use in kettlebell training... The only real difference might be which way to go, either economy of motion style or the way that kills you the most.
I wonder how this affects the wrist. I have problems sometimes doing Power Cleans because of the stress on the wrist. I notice I have this problem also on doing heavy squats and my wrist twisted so I started to do the thumb behind the bar with the other fingers.
lots of wrist curls with gradually increasing weight. i used to do a lot of MA up until 20yr. old, but now at 28 my wrists are not the same. Also performing wrist roations prior to workouts 20-30 times to right and left really helped me with preventing pain.
Thanks, I'll try this. I think mine has to do with over training a while back on the wrist. I use to have problems doing powercleans if I don't drop immediately under the bar. I keep that in mind and try it out next workout. Thanks!
Wrist can be a problem if you are just getting into this. Greg, in the video, is an incredible athlete and the KB snatch is a VERY difficult movement that one needs to practice for a long time to perfect. Wrist curls are absolutely useless unless you have the grip of a 4 month old, generally flexibility and grip STRENGTH need to be improved along with really good technique.
you should take your shoes off when you do kettlebells.

Awesome workout pal, keep it up
abhispy2003 10 months ago
Lose the shoes. Your heels shouldn't come up during the snatches. It's screwing up your entire motion.

How heavy is the KB?
jcnol 4 years ago
he's pretty strong, but could he kip anymore on those pullups. honestly.
trident10 4 years ago
You're supposed to kip if you can, it's faster and a more metabolically challenging workout that way.
