If you have enough wind for a reverse, don't get in a rush to turn and run. Get the wing up and stable then turn, recheck the wing, then go. He was in too much of a hurry. When he turned and ran, he lost balance for a second....stumbled to the right and at 11sec you can see his right hand pulling brake (trailing edge of wing confirms) as he tries to regain balance. And of course, the wing goes right. Best to abort if anything at all is not right.
Let me guess.. you stared at the wind conditions for a while. Then decided its not that bad, besides i need to practice different wind conditions. Or did that only happen to me...lol

Needs proper training and equipment is all. Get your P2 from the USHPA and really learn how to fly before you try to launch. Then of course the Eden III is not a beginner wing. I oscillates naturally. Get a DHV 1 if you are a beginner. Also forget black hawk. Lucky you didn't chop your hand or arm up in that incident. Friends don't let friends fly anything but Flat Tops.
Why Mr. Super has to keep criticizing wings and other motors just amazes me. I have been flying my black hawk 172 since early 2007 and other motors since 1998 and abolutely love it. If I had a Flat top, I would probably like it also (I simply love fanning around), but I guess when you sell them you have to down the rest. Have launched difficult wings and some easy ones. It's not your wing or motor. It's all about technique and learning how to launch; practice.

Umm dude?? Pull your head out of your backside. I'm warning about very REAL dangers that I know are there from vast experience. I am likely the most experienced paramotor pilot in the world. I know what WILL happen if you don't get the right training and gear. Trying to downplay my advice as a sales pitch is horribly negligent and just plain ignorant. Who gives a crap if you haven't been injured YET. Does that mean the dangers are not real???? Wake up man, this is his LIFE!!! Not your EGO
Relax, my comment certainly was not about EGO. I absoulutely agree that learning the proper techniques is crutial, I think you are being a little to dramatic now. I have seen your videos (which are quite enjoyable) and agree you have talent, but sounds like you have the biggest EGO.
Who gives a crap? So what if I really did have a huge gigantic out of control ego? Does that in any way at all negate my experience and the importance of me warning people about very real dangers that have caused numerous injuries over and over and over in the exact same ways? This isn't about egos, this isn't about equipment or who sells it. This is about reducing injuries to help people and the image of the sport. People chopping their hands up makes us all look like idiots.
Not the wing at all. I have the eden 3 with same color. Low wind is definitely forward territory. Try to make sure your under the wing before applying full power as you will get hooked around toward the wing on takeoff if not. Keep on practicing your forwards with only a harness and you[ll soon be a pro.
It's all about assessing the conditions and deciding the appropriate launch technique, in this low wind speed a forward launch is probably more appropriate. Unlucky mate keep at it, I saw the bit of prop land right at the end of the clip... Ouch expansive! Nice Glider though, is it the Eden 3?
We all got it wrong once or twice, credit to him for putting the clip on here! Tempting to just put our clever takeoffs on here! Not a wanker Brasser08, & I suppose your some kinda sky god....not!
Do it. Sharing your experience benefits the entire flying community. You can disable comments if you want to silence condescending idiots. We've all made mistakes. We might as well learn from each other. Happy flying!

Find a reference point in the direction of the wind before launching.

Also his hands were low and applying brakes.
explorateurdesairs 2 years ago
Too much power at the wrong time, too early. He ran to the right, instead of center.
Probably disoriented from backward inflation.probably broke the cage and/or prop.
explorateurdesairs 2 years ago
if the pilot ran more steps and watched ,felt the status of wing(small throttle),then determine full throttle or abort,he may avoid this risk.

I have done exactly the same thing ....too much power too early...it really sucks. Ended up with a new prop and cage. Glad you were OK
andyp412 3 years ago
next time get that wing flying right before you go full throttle. Glad you were ok, and ya gotta hate breaking props!
Blacke30 3 years ago
Gotta rate the video a "5" for effort...and always sucks breaking a prop.
safe skies.
