But thankfully the Prisoner DVDs are available from Australia and on Amazon and eBay. The UK releases are slowly being released as well, so that's one in the eye for ITV messing around with our viewing of Prisoner in certain regions back in the 1990's. :)
The protesting outside Central TV studios in Birmingham sadly seemed like a waste of time then back in the 90's.
Fans from the UK and Ireland were there as well as Val Lehman (Bea Smith) and Judy McBurney (Pixie Mason) trying to get the broadcasters to show it again and at a proper, fixed time for the Central bosses to drop the re-run of Prisoner. Such a shame.
They showed the first 94 episodes- one per week and then dropped it just as it was getting good as they felt it hadn't gained any new viewers and it was only the people who watched the first run watching. Some episodes were on after 2am!
