Do you really mean to say that the way we should go is to not ask anything for ourselves? Is that humility or pride? Look at Mark 11:23-24, the end of Mat. 6, etc. Christ did not come so that you would have no benefit but should give it all to another. No, Christ came that you would enjoy his blessings & bring others to Him & be blessed. The more accurate scripture-based story would be if the 1st man were to go fetch the other man at each blessing, & two women were brought or something....
its not about hate it is simply more on selflessness on the part of the person who thinks more on what will benefit his companion instead of what he prays to get from God's blessings ..
I have faith in an amazing God. However, this story is fiction, put together by a person, and not inspired by Him. Also, if this man is such a great Christian, why did he not first pray for his brother on the other side of the island?
