  • missing lolita, and eyes wide shut

  • pure artist

  • Wonderfully done! Bravo!

  • too beautiful...

  • Great montage and some shocking imagery, for the faint hearted, but still this captures Kubrick's manic genius. Well done. Way different from the official doco.

  • Kubrick I'm not worthy

    montage needs more Lolita

  • great montage! however, im sad to see there was barely any Eyes Wide Shut in here. thats my favorite Kubrick film

  • Amazing.

  • Great job on the editing! It represents Kubrick as a real artist. Thank you!

  • Kubrick, o maior.

  • Damn i have notice that all my favorite movies are Kubrick film´s, lol

  • gorgeous video! but there is not fear and desire...

  • Kubrick is probably the best director of all time and he has recently become my favorite. This montage is amazinggg thanks for making it!

  • hermoso, hermosisimo video

  • I love Kubrick for all of the same artistic merits everyone else loves his work for. I think 2001, A Clockwork Orange and Dr. Strangelove are easily three of the greatest films ever made.

But, Kubrick's fans go over the top sometimes. Out of all the other filmmakers in history, we're supposed to worship Stanley Kubrick above all others? I mean, just forget Hitchcock, Welles, Capra, Ford, Scorsese, Coppola, Spielberg, Kurosawa, Cameron, etc and accept Kubrick as the greatest director??

  • @LukeLovesRose yes, no one has ever made films of 9 different genres, for me he is the greatest. if you are not interested in thrillers for ex. hitchcock is not going to like you, if you don't like westerns same for ford etc...

  • that was pretty spectacular!

  • I've seen some great montages on YouTube. This is the best. Kudos.

  • He's alive forever because of his greatest movies

  • you are awome mr lalinde77

  • VERY VERY VERY good work. Nice complication. I love it, i saved it. Thank you!

    Watch my first movie!

  • few things in art better than these movies

my faves are 2001, strangelove, jacket, and shining but i've yet to see lolita, ews, paths, clockwork and lyndon

  • 1:23 was epic..Great Job !

  • amazing

  • it's easy to say that kubrick is a maste...r for

a poor cinefile, but every single film he made got a message and a reflection of how we live, his doesn't knew the word "box office" he made fims because he falls in love with good storys, actually it's impossible to do things like him... it's impossible, money rules and the genius died alone...

  • Thats the name I was looking for.Thanks. Tell me this though: when Alex speaks of a Pain in his Gullova, and in another one of many Says that the Malenky lizards crawling up his arm; are those not direct Russian words of Head, and Small?

  • Beats me, Clamms, you know a lot more Russian than I! You can find a dictionary of Nadsat words online which might be of interest (google nadsat), which I presume is taken from the list of Nadsat words included in the published novel. As for why it's "horrorshow" instead of the actual Russian word "khorosho," I guess it was a pun, the joke being that the more horrific a thing is, the better Alex likes it!

  • Real horrorshow! I thoroughly enjoyed this. The clips and cutting are very creative.

  • Almost forgot. The definitive pecking order (i.e., mine:)

    1. Eyes Wide Shut

    2. Barry Lyndon

    3. 2001

    4. A Clockwork Orange

5/6. Full Metal Jacket/The Shining (Tie)

    7. Dr. Strangelove

    8. Lolita

    9. The Killing

  • I'm sorry, did you rate Eyes Wide Shut as your #1 favorite Kubrick film?

    For shame.

  • Kubrick began a great experiment in pure cinematic expression with 2001, in which content, concept and theme are expressed not only by words, action and drama but formally, on cinema's own unique terms: movement, color, rhythm, tone and music. EWS utilizes all the ideas he developed before and elaborates on them. It's the ultimate trip, difficult and rewarding; his most complex and humane film. My view is not alone: according to his wife, Stanley also considered it his best work. See it again.

  • While I agree with you that, cinematically, it's certainly one of his greatest films, the distractingly atrocious performances of Cruise and Kidman (Kidman in particular) simply prevents EWS from taking the place of my favorite Kubrick film, and I've seen it several times.

  • It's Horrosho ! Which means Good in Russian. There are over 100 Russian words in this movie

  • True! It is from the Russian "khorosho" ("good" or "well"). As for the spelling of the word, though, it is different in Nadsat, the elaborate, fictional slang created by Anthony Burgess, author of the novel "A Clockwork Orange," in which it is spelled "horrorshow." A lot of Nadsat, the language Alex speaks and thinks in, is based on Russian, but the spellings of the Russian-based Nadsat words appear to reflect Alex's (mis)understanding of them and their origin. Hence, good is "horrorshow!"

  • What's the name of the music?

  • no Lolita?

  • excellent editing !

    nice job

  • "I was cured alright!!" "well done my boy!" -Lorenzo, Montvale NJ

  • excellent

  • Very good work !

  • A Clockwork Orange and the shining are both masterpieces, but he has about 10 great films.

  • Comment removed

  • 2:15 shit that !creeps me the hell out!

  • Well done!

I love the Kubrick-films and you made a very nice montage about the greatest movies ever made!!

Even a retarded blind monkey has better taste than you.

  • So do I think =) My favourites are Shining, 2001, Dr. Strangelove and Clockwork Orange

  • Well the best movie he ever did would have to be is 2001 but my favorite would have to clockwork orange

  • Kubrick is my favourite director! Which is his best movie, do you think?

  • Good job man, every film he made was a masterpiece. the cutting along with Beethoven works brilliantly, thanks for making it.

  • great video, what tune is this?

  • pretty cool edition

  • Brilliant! Check out my Kubrick Tribute.

  • nice editing, good job

  • I'm doing a kubrick tribute on windows movie maker but i'm never going to be able to top that.

  • the music is from the 9th symphony of Beethoven (2nd movement I think) - It is also used extensively in Clockwork Orange (esp the 4th movement)

  • where was lolita and paths of glory. I didn't see them almost at all. I still like this video though. five stars

  • Whats the Song from Beethoven called?

  • Beethoven's 9th symphony 2nd movement and then the 4th movement.

  • All that was missing I guess was Lolita.

  • Excellent work. Used a couple clips twice (whihc oud be filled w/ more 2001 and Paths (and Lolita). Nice edit!

  • Just read your full description, Lalinde77. Just wanted to say that w/ a dash of polish, this would make a real great portfolio piece!

  • 1 :: 2001: A Space Odyssey

    2 :: Dr. Strangelove

    3 :: Barry Lyndon

    4 :: The Killing

    5 :: A Clockwork Orange

  • Great memories. Thanx.

  • Ya I couldn't believe Malcolm didn't win the oscar for best actor. When they did the seen where he is strapped down and forced to watch those movies with those clamps in his eyes, the clamps scratched his cornea and he had to get something done to his eye. Besides that being nude in almost every seen, this is my third favortie film after Strangelove and Pulp fiction. The French Connection I dont like so much but it still is pretty damn good. to pull off so I can see why French Connection won.

  • Love the Kubrick-films

  • 1. a clockwork orange

    2. the shining

i havent seen 2001 or strangelove!

  • watch them! both are great, and dr strangelove is very funny ;)

  • how much do you think malcolm should have gotten an oscar? he wasnt even nominated!

  • the academy has this sort of...attitude with these movies, it happened with pulp fiction. I havent seen the french connection yet, but I dont think that it was better than a clockwork orange. I dont know who were the other actors that were nominated at that time, but i think he should have been nominated ;)

  • Brilliantly edited! I liked the framing structure you used from Clockwork Orange's "forced viddy viewing scene." Clever. I love Kubrick as you can tell from my screen name. We won't see the likes of Kubrick again. Drop by and subscribe to my channel if you have time.

  • Thank a lot Stanley, the best ever

    Rest In Peace

  • Marvellous. Thank you.

  • "Nooooooooooo, not Ludwig van!" Well done and thank you.

  • loovely loovely loodwig van

  • Kubrick es un ser superior a nuestro pensamiento, solo asi puedo describirlo,"Sin lugar a dudas me habia curado"

  • Kubrick ROCKs the HOUSE

  • so well done :)

  • What was the movie set in the Revolutionary War?

  • Barry Lyndon

  • The greatest filmaker ever. I really enjoyed that, cheers mate.

  • After the video was done "I was singing in the rain"

  • Great edit! I liked your use of the Beethoven throughout. You could've used a little more variety (Lolita and 2001 feel a little shortchanged), but overall, it was wonderful!

  • Great movie editing! I'm sure Kubrick would have been proud to have seen his movies used in such a montage.

  • Stanly Kubrick was a God of Film! R.I.P Stanly

  • This is a good video, but Spartacus ? And Lolita ?

  • Spartacus was a good film and to the chagrin of HIS EMMINENCE, Michael Douglas was one Kubrick too control of. Lolita was controversial for it's time (come one, it's about a man's pedophilistic tendencies, made in the 1960's? Dang!)

  • Great! But not enough Eyes Wide Shut.

  • Well done, indeed! Wonderful synch with the music and the images. You should try for a longer version sometime. Wonderful!

  • PERFECT!!

  • Amazing video! "I was cured alright".

  • No_the_dudes_in_the_MASKS

    i_know_JACK_NICOLSON_was_in_the_shining

    What_film_had_those_dudes_in_masks?

  • Eyes Wide Shut, Kubricks last film.

  • and_2:00

  • 1:51 and 2:00 are from The Shining.

  • what_is_the_movie_at_1:51?

  • very nice montage indeed! kubrick is the man.

  • Nice video. He was a genious of the cinema, in the Hall of fame of the 7th art.

  • Bloody SUPERB!

  • Very nice montage! A- =p

  • Ah-mazing. I've only seen clips of his movies though. Jeez, this is what you get for having parents, I see. But this is a true montage.

  • Good work ;-D

  • Well done. Nicely edited.

  • excellent; you have a future in film editing

  • Love the whole thing. Love that ending. I WAS CURED ALRIGHT!

  • Very good!

  • Very well done. Did anyone see Barry Lyndon(1975)on the big screen...beside me?

  • Great editing, fine job.

  • excelent, dont mind the criticism that is the way of the master

  • Well, so soon is relative, he was in his 70's. LOL But yea his life was short in that his career, or the movies he made, were small in number, for sure. But the films he DID make were the top of the top! LOL

  • Kubrick was so freakishly talented, that I think he didn't belong here on earth. Maybe that is why he left so soon.

  • I simply hate it when people beat me to ideas like this...as in starting the montage with 'Clockwork'...that was excellent

  • The Killing is definitly an under-appreciated gem. Good job on including it.

    Good work!

  • Great trailer! He was such a talented guy! He was so deep in so many ways, and an expert at getting to people through the media of film. There's a eulogy for him that a filmmaker gave at his memorial; it was very touching and well-written. He'll forever be a model to all filmmakers around the globe. Sorry to sound dramatic or corny but it really grieves me I never got a chance to know of meet him.

  • nothing corny about it. I think Kubrick touched us all in that almost "life-moving" way.

  • At least I'm not the only Kubrick fan.

  • Actually, the music is Beethoven's 9th Symphony, the Second Movement

  • And wonderful pieces like Timesteps by Walter Carlos (which isn't in the film but was composed for it.)

  • Just saw the note about these being the only films. Given that, people should relax and enjoy the excellent work youve done here. I feel like the music is by Mozart, but I couldnt say what it is. Please someone correct me

  • How about that guy, Beethoven, with the 9th... Any bells ringing :))

  • despite all the criticism youre getting (wouldve been nice to see the films mentioned, especially Paths) I think youve done an excellent job. Youve pulled some of the most iconic, memorable images from each film, especially 2001 and Lyndon. My hats off

  • possibly the best montage ever

  • yee-haw

  • Hey, what's the name of the song used?

  • I love Kubrick!!

  • good work... kubrick rulez!

  • A great tribute to the greatest director, well done!

  • kubrick the great

  • (cont'd)

Also, the reverse motion put onto the dolly out in A Clockwork Orange looked really good until right before you cut. I'd much rather you cut as Alex is putting the glass to his mouth, rather than after he takes a sip. (Cause seeing the up and down motion of the glass is awkward in reverse.)

  • Only things I would have changed;

The reverse motion of the blood in The Shining. We already see this in regular motion later on, so to show it earlier in reverse is just distracting and seems like something you just did to take up time

    (continued with another comment)

  • Astounding... nothing more can one say when viewing the works of Stanley Kubrick in such a beautiful manner. Good job!

  • Oh, god... That laugh! *shudder* Gets me every time. EXCELLNT!! Very nicely done! 5/5!

  • That was excellent. 5/5 from me. What editing software did you use?

  • Le plus grand réalisateur de tous les temps: Stanley Kubrick. J'adore ses films!

  • The greatest director of all, period !

  • Spartacus and Lolita don't count...he didn't write the script to these

  • If you didn't have Lolita footage then I wouldn't have made a moontage, because really it isn't a montage or a tribute on Kubrick, without Lolita and his other films!

  • Oops, read that you didn't have Lolita footage available. No problem...still needed Paths and Spartacus, and more Killing...

  • # Lolita (1962)

    # Spartacus (1960)

... aka Spartacus: Rebel Against Rome (USA: poster title)

    # Paths of Glory (1957)

    # The Killing (1956)

    # Killer's Kiss (1955)

    # The Seafarers (1953)

    # Fear and Desire (1953)

    # Day of the Fight (1951)

    # Flying Padre (1951)

  • Good stuff....nice use of Lyndon footage...most people forget about that one. Not enough Eyes, and you should have at least included Paths of Glory and Lolita.

  • Well done, but missing footage from some Kubrick essentials and not enough of some others.

  • Great Tribute, great choice of muisc...but as above I wish it had footage from Killers Kiss, paths of glory and Fear and Desire...but still a 5 star production...A job well done.

  • Excellent piece. I'm lookinhg forward to the follow up.Make sure it includes Paths of Glory and The Killing! Well done, lalinde77!

  • You have forgotten spartacus
