this may be totally off the mark, but since neuro responses have a lot to to with minerals, try searching a little into bentonite clay baths, see if it helps you at all , all the best, she's beautiful!
This kid in my class does the same thing. Like never wen he's moving just wen he's sitting down. But idk if it's. The same thing with ur daughter. I'd check with a doctor
By the way, we live in Sweden (there for my bad english). The neurologist talked about a seminar in London that she went to and where they talked about this disorder. I just sended the videos of my son to her, 'cause she wants to show them for her students and colleagues. Many kisses to little Amanda Isabella :)
@tortugadevil Not only is your english good, but I when I went to your page I noticed that you have a lot of spanish things on there. I speak spanish too. :)
Hello! I saw the video of your little girl and was very interested. I have a 2 year old son and he have the same movement disorder. We went to neurologist and she said that it was a very abnormal disorder but that it wasn't dangerous. And that it was going to go away for itself, with time. They don't have a name for this, and it is very unusual. But I want to believe her when she says that it isn't dangerous. You can contact me if you want our videos so you can compare. Sry 4 my bad English :)
@tortugadevil Yes, I would very much like to see your video. Do you have one posted on your page?
We still don't have any answers as to what could be affecting our daughter. They say that she has so many complex movements that they don't know what to make of it. :( Thank you for contacting me and please do keep in touch.
Update 6/12/10: Spinal tap also came out normal. Waiting for genetic test results. Episodes continue to progress. Starting to do something just a little different, will have to try and catch it on video. Still no diagnosis.
Have you looked into PET and Spect testing? This may be helpful because if it is taking place in the brain like deep brain or frontal lobe seizure things it'll pick it up.. It really does look almost like a complex partial seizure.. I hope you find answers
@Gretchenfan76 Can't say that I have, no. I guess I just assumed that if there is a test out there still left to be done, that her doctors would have done it already. I don't know. :( I will try to Google PET and Spect testing and see what I can learn about it. Thanks for the suggestion! Much appreciated.
@rballeto Sometimes doctors say they did all the tests they know of but medical science has really come alot further than we think and they have some amazing tests that can help out alot of people for a number of things. I really hope you get answers for your daughter soon.
Here you can see some of what Amanda does while having an episode. You cannot see the whole body movements in this one. Nor is there much mouth movement or eye blinking. She is in a world of her own. No stress, no anxiety. We are all just sitting around watching TV, and this is what she is doing. You can also see how she tends to stare off somewhere! Not the best of videos to show all that she does, but it is better than nothing.
