  • Denmark experimented with legalizing druggs and ended up with people shooting up in broad daylight. They had to stop that stuff quick. 9 times out of 10 users/abusers start that stuff because they're selfish and think drugs are something great.

  • Prison is big business- I wonder how many of these Washington, DC Law Makers have stock in these privatized prisons???

  • Maybe we can fine drug users but it makes no sense to put them in prison for a long time.

  • Well in the Middle East all the would-be prisoners are running free, becoming priests in some cases.

  • If we could use even a fraction of the drug war budget on processing rape kits...

I was on the jury of a rape trial. The kit wasn't processed until almost two YEARS after the assault, and this was a case where the woman knew her attacker's name. The DNA didn't need to be run through a database, it only needed to be checked against one person. The guy walked around free that whole time.

  • America makes criminals out of the wrong people.

  • Trafficking in native American women? Dude. Where can I get one?

  • A few things about the comment that "sfca925" posted 4 months ago.

There was an argument once on The West Wing that Toby Zeigler was making about how we should regulate needle usage by permitting people to receive free needle programs. This would accomplish 2 things.

    1) Prevent diseases that are caused by needle sharing.

    2) Allow the government to monitor how often people would ask for needles.

  • Eric Holder, our Justice Czar at work.

  • @Agent1W

    He was confirmed 75-21 dipshit

  • @micesy Let me help you finish that sentence. "He was confirmed 75-21, dipshits' favor." But yeah, I'm not surprised that 75 dipshits would confirm a no-knowledge-of-the-law lawyer.

  • @Agent1W Ok... My point was that he's not a czar you moron! And even if he was I didn't here a lot of complaints before 1/20/09.. But you're right I miss the good ol' days of the Gonzales-Yoo-Ashcroft Justice Department. But now the kenyan guy is ruining everything by putting black guys everywhere dammit! GO TORTURE!

  • @micesy Any person appointed by the High Lord Barack is a czar who mirrors him in every way. Basically, Holder is Obama, not his own person anyway. Even for the sake of argument, if I want to be appointed somewhere in the current President's cabinet, I have to think and agree 100% with the Most Merciful to qualify.

  • @Agent1W Yeah you're right his cabinet is filled with pinko commies like Robert Gates, Ray Lahood (R-IL), John McHugh (R-NY). You're too caught up in Fox News propaganda to realize Obama's actually a pretty moderate guy; he's a pragmatist not an ideologue. You want to find ideologues, look at the Senate GOP! But even if all is cabinet members agreed 100% with him on everything, which is obviously not the case, elections have consequences!

  • @micesy Much thanks to El Rushbo, whom I trust to get analyzation of the news. I usually watch MSNBC stories off my XBox otherwise.

  • @micesy

Obama campaigned center but rules center right. I for example oppose obama from the left.

  • @LeopardFrogPilboxhat You have a very unique definition of center-right. I'm a hardcore liberal and I'm often disappointed and frustrated by this administration but you have to look at the big picture. No matter whetter he's reelected or not, he will have been the most liberal president since Lyndon Johnson. He's done so much for the future of this country for people who can't help themselves. I have no doubt he is a president for the history books and he has another 6 1/2 years to do things!

  • @micesy

How so? The healthcare bill that got passed was basically what Newt Gingrich proposed as an alternative to hillary care, it's all mandate and no pooling of risk with economics of scale to bring costs down. I forget if e-med records even got put in.

The most liberal president since LBJ was probably G HW bush. He passed the ADA(1992) which is equally valuable with LBJ's civil rights act

I think the recovery act was probably the only good obama did in two years

  • Obama didn't get us universal healthcare, nor public option, not even co-ops. It didn't even give provision that would strip insurance companies of subsidy privilidges that would make non-profit healthcare corporations competitive(kind of like how credit unions get a line of credit from the fed)

the healthbill is a massive turd

  • @LeopardFrogPilboxhat The health care bill proposed is pretty much the exact same bill that Bob Dole tried to pass in 1993. Here's a thought, he tried? The alternative is Paul Ryan's plan which hands out vouchers, and which will increase the deficit by 62 trillion dollars in the next 50 years. Source for this is politifact, which is non biased and non partisan.

  • @Agent1W

In what way in Obama an autocrat? I mean he's a shitty president, but that's just because hes spineless

  • @LeopardFrogPilboxhat Well, he has his appointed "czars" that carry out his wishes lol.

  • @Agent1W

    *sigh*

Every president since Woodrow Wilson has had political czars. Czars are the same as those appointed offices defined by the constitution such as secretary of state. The jobs czar for example has much less power than say the secretary of agriculture.

It's basically a delegation of that classical executive power that would have been reserved for the president anyway as per the constitution.

Id be willing to have them get approved by the house before taking their job

  • @LeopardFrogPilboxhat Very good answer. I just can't help but to think that President Obama appoints people who will do anything and everything Obama would do in their shoes. Literally, it's getting the 100% 'Yesmen' on board.

  • @Agent1W

Obama has been a colossal embarrassment. Just for example: campaigned with all "all of the above" then he approved offshore drilling in exchange for "good will"(nothing) and then after deep water horizon banned all new drilling.

Fucking ridiculous. he just twists in the wind

Its going to get worse because the senate is never going to pass any energy bill that is any more progressive than only increased subsides to oil companies. I think Mccain would have probably done all the same

  • It's because you privatized the prison system, stupid!!

  • Best idea (Ron Paul): Pardon everybody in prison for drug crimes, legalize drugs, sell, regulate and tax them, and use the money for rehabilitation programs, clinics, and halfway houses. Result: a humane society.

  • @sfca925 Ron Paul also wants the US to get out of the UN, NATO..have a 1912 economy in 2012, no medical licenses for doctors, the working uninsured should be taken care of "by the churches" and thinks it's more important to not "force" the poor doctors from saving his life. He is xenophobic, paranoid minute man conspiracy kook who thinks Israel was created by Hamas. It's so obvious he along all republicans have been setting up and want an isolated society based on racism and greed.

  • anything that is manufactured or processed in a drug lab us not natural and that includes heroin and cocain. what is natural and is not nearly as addictive as the processed versions are opium which is made by scoring the opium poppy. The other one is the cocoa leaf which is actually not addictive at all and has been used by the indigenous populations in the andes mountains for thousands if years.

  • sounds like another plan to push ahead the new world order- where on a million or so survive and the thats the elite

  • eric holder is a reptilian folks. conformed reptilian spread the word.

  • Remove all Drug laws and you will decrease viloence and reduce the prison population...also, reign in the Death penalty...someone who kills someone at will deserves no life themselves

  • @helltrackrider

Well I'm against removing all Drug laws.

I do however agree that anything that's shown to be less harmful than what's already legal, should be legal.

So for instance, I'm perfectly fine with legalizing marijuanna and ecstasy.

However stuff like PCP and Meth should be illegal.

  • Im just a small government, big Liberty person that knows that i can make better decisions in my Life than the governments corporate/partisan driven decisions...

But, yes...there should be limitations/statutes put forth against the production of such un-natural, potentially deadly drugs...but, if someone opts to use them...i feel that is there personal decision, unless they are in a public place where potential harm to others is imminent.

    But, anything natural...weed...should be legal

  • @hellatrackrider

Well I still disagree on that last part.

    Heroin, shouldn't be legal.

And Cocaine, I'm not terribly certain about.

  • heroin isnt a natural herb nor natural substance...

Cocaine could make our population skinny again! Then maybe the Brits would stop callin us fatties.

Sucks that a Government has to tell individuals what to do and not to do...i dont disagree with the laws, cause i will never break them...i disagree with the intrusion of freedom that is taken little at a time every time a law is passed...to a point where now, marijuana has a medical benefit...but it is illegal.

  • @helltrackrider

    Poppy flowers aren't a natural?

  • In a way, i guess it can be considered "natural"...i was refering to the fact that it is extracted and combined numerous times over to obtain the dosage needed for the street druggies...

  • "Cocaine could make our population skinny again! Then maybe the Brits would stop callin us fatties."

As if we don't have enough people kicking their kids through the wall and screwing their grandmothers. Addictive drugs play a large role in many of the most heinous infamous crimes: The Matthew Sheppard Beating (meth), The Manson Murders (coke, meth), Karla Faye Tucker(coke) The Bush Presidency (coke)....to name just a few. Children have no where to go when their parents are crazy wired.

  • ...you forgot one, the Obama Presidency...

  • ...and when you have "illegal" drugs...you have crowded prisons, you have blackmarket dealings which lead to increased violence...which in turn, leads to more government...which in turn leads to more laws and siezure of more liberty...revolving door...

booze is legal...you dont find any booze dealers going to jail, just those whom use it publically where others Rights and Property are potentially liable.

if drugs were the same, they would regulate themselves and reduce violent crimes.

  • im just suprised the government hasnt forced everyone to have bars on their windows and doors in theor homesas a prison home.

  • I wish they'd have an electric shock for everytime someone stutters on TV.

  • WOW!! FRANKEN IS THE MAN!! i had no idea he'd be this awesome!!!

  • Yeah, now lets release all the prisoners regardless of how violent they are and send them to his house, he will cuddle them and love them and hug them and suck them off more than likely like a little bitch.

  • who said release the violent people? if you're violent then yes, you should be in jail, if you smoke pot or do drugs without hurting anyone, why the fuck should you go to jail?

  • Franken is on his way to be a very power senate chairman someday soon.

  • Drug money is used to rig elections

    And train brutal corporate sponsored

    Dictators around the world

  • The percentage of Americans in the prison system. Prison system has doubled since 1985

  • great,

    I am glad he won.

  • We love you Al Franken... Thank you for your service... God Bless

  • The prison lobbyists are doing a good job.
