I like your Idea. I can not believe he did not know anything was going on. The problem I see is that if he did not know this was going on then he is getting by with his head in the sand. He should have known this was happening. He is the leader of his party. If that is not the case then he was not willing to stop his criminal friends from breaking the law.  Either way is a bad way to start his term.
