Yeah, I can't believe people would want to go support a hockey team at game 6 when the cup is on the line... How dare people buy tickets to a hockey game. I just can't believe those fans. They should have a rule that only diehards can buy tickets. Then they'd only get 2000 fans at every playoff game and the team would make $0 profit. Then all the people who couldn't go to the game couldn't tell their friends, and the team wouldn't set playoff attendance records. You're a visionary, bellp7.
This was the night of my birthday!! What a great gift me and Cincinnati. Unbelievable!!!! Way to go Cyclones. And now we are on our way to a 2nd Kelly Cup Victory. Sweet
bellp7-Please don't take this as an attack on you! But I am so sick of hearing people bitch about fair weather fans. These "true fans" as they call themselves are just as bad as the fair weathers. They complain when others gain an interest in a sport or team, and start following them, and attack them for it. I would MUCH rather see jam packed US Bank Arena when the 'Clones are doing well then to just have the 2,000 or so diehards that have followed the team forever. If it helps the team, great.
not only the fact that there is no NHL team in cincinnati, but there hasn't been a real winner in cincinnati professional sports since the 1990 world champion reds. with the reds not doing so hot and the bengals...well, being the bengals, the cyclones kelly cup championship was definitely refreshing for the city. but we do have u. of cincinnati football and xavier basketball with success on the collegiate level in the fall and winter.
i was in the crowd that night tooo, imagine if this game was played at the ciny gardens thats a great place to watch hockey not the us bank arena that place blows
This team deserved the cup. I watched as often as I could from 1300 miles away. When the team ceased operations, I took a job in Austin Texas...then they resume and win the cup. Irony.
I was THERE for this game, 4th row @ red line. (how sad was it that I bought my tickets Sunday before the game and was able to get THOSE seats - come on Cinci, support the team & buy tix). The reds are at least 2 seasons away & the Bengals are 1 ownership group away from greatness. Love them 'clones!
I was at the very first game the Cyclones ever won back in 1990 (defeating the old Hampton Roads Admirals in that game!), and I was at this exciting game too. I feel like I've now come full circle watching my hockey team over the years. Congratulations Cyclones!! You've made all Cincinnati hockey fans proud!! I'm a 'Clones fan forever!!
Congratulations to the Cyclones and to all of their true loyal fans, not so much the bandwagon jumpers. They were barely drawing 1500 for many games early in the year and then pull in 12,000 for the Finals. That was one hell of a team and it's nice to see that they gained a bigger following as the season wore on. I'm in Nailers country but I definitely have a lot of respect for the Cyclones and all of their fans I have encountered have all been great. Hope to see some of you next year.
i was there as i have been to most games the last two years. the clones play with heart and love the game. i enjoy them alot more than the reds or bengals. i hope this puts more fans in the seats next year. i was at the sunday afternoon game and there wasn't even 600 fans in the place. last night they had almost 13,000. almost felt like the gardens back in the early 90's. feels good to finally have a winning team here. go cyclones. see ya tommorow at the square.
That's more people than a Coyotes or Islanders game.

Congrat's to the boys for bringing home the Kelly Cup. I was fortunate to be one of the 12,727 in attendence.
Funny it took the boys to make a run at a Championship and then Win one for this city to FINALLY embrace the greatest sport there is, HOCKEY!
See you all right back there next season!
Go Clones!! '07-'08 ECHL Kelly Cup Champs!
Go Red Wings!! '07-'08 NHL Stanley Cup Champs!
It's been a hell of a season of Hockey for this fan that's fo sho!!!

This is also our first professional hockey championship in 35 years. The AHL Swords won the Calder Cup in 1973 over Nova Scotia.
