  • Speaking from mechanics p.o.v. the stroke can not beat a duramax.The engines aren't put together well enough. For those that say a lifted truck is slow are stupid. I know a guy with a lifted 383 stroker, modded right and he can easily pick his front end up in the air and haul ass. When you do a drag race its half/half with truck and owner. If the powerstroke broke loose and failed off the line thats his fault.

  • Ok this is for people that have even a slight understanding for trucks. The ford has a lift which slows it down, also i can't tell if the chevy is even diesel because you never show a full view of it like you did the ford because although diesels run at a higher compression ratio they don't run as fast. Also stacks don't improve speed if anything a lot of times it slows them down. Another thing the ford is a big quad cab extended truck that has been geared to haul heavy equipment not haul ass.

(FORIEGN ENGINE!)Until 2010, where the Ford 6.7 Powerstroke was brought n house & is built, designed, & distributed by Ford. continued above...

  • @cbsmoraine its all about variety. something the duramax doesnt have. and yes i will admit the 6.0 isnt the best diesel ever made but the 7.3 is the best that has ever been on the market ever. remember in the 90's when GM couldnt get a diesel right? at least ford made a IDI that lasted for its time.

  • @MegaFordtough Not trying to spit on your candle or anything but, the 7.3 powerstroke and the 7.3 IDI are two completely seperate motors. They have a completely different fuel system. NAVISTAR made the engine, not Ford. Do not take this wrong the 7.3 stroker will be one of the most dependable diesel pickup's out there, however, just like any other motor. Having it produce 180hp stock, as far as I am concerned, it should last forever. This is just my opinion and my .02... well more like .01.

I will never own another powerstroke. not only because i feel the engine is far more superior, & parts r less expensive, but also because i have the best tranny on the market. also the last 2 diesel power challenges have been won by DMAX's. as 4 ur cute lil F-150 pulling out that bus, good job. like the lil engine that could, u think u can, u think u can

  • @MegaFordtough lol we arent picking ben and jerry ice cream here. everytime a car company come out with a new engine it has a 1 to 3 year time frame where they have to work out the bugs. duramax has pressed past that 1 to 2 year mark and desided to not only work out the bugs but to make the engines better and better. as for the 7.3 being thier best, i say no, it way to under powered for its size. i would say there 6.7is the one to beat, which ironically the 2011 duramax already has

  • @MegaFordtough would be all well and good but ur numbers are totally wrong, 2011 DMAX puts out 397 hp, 765 lbft of torque and gets 18.8 mpg, VS the 2011 6.7 that puts out 390 hp, and 735 lbft of torque. granted ever factory spec sheet i have read on it says 21 mpg. but per motortrend magazine, the duramax 3500 can tow 21,700 and the f-350 can tow 21,600. hundred pounds big whoop. but regardless the duramax out performs it THATS Y ITS MOTOR TRENDS TRUCK OF THE YEAR!!!!!

Ford just tweek the computer and force in more work to the engine components without much upgrades. you can just do that with any aftermarket programmers and a few parts upgrades and keep track of what youre upgrading. Ford just proves how much theyre trying to compete to win against Duramax. I own Ford Diesels but I gotta give credits to Duramax for this one tho, they did a great job.

  • sorry guys... i like fords and all.. but as a duramax owner myself with no mods except straight pipe and k&n panel filter.. ive personally never been beaten by a ford anything with a modified anything. ive drag raced quite a few and the stock dury spanks em from start to finish everytime. ive driven fords...6.0, 6.4, and 7.3 diesels, along with cummins 5.9 and 6.7 and they just dont have the balls the duramax has while getting good fuel mileage

  • @DirtyDuramax02 the 6.6 duramax is one of the lightest diesels out there having aluminum heads and the 2500 chevy frame and body is light compared to the bulky f250 frame and body on the drag strip expect dirtymaxs to be number 1 when it comes to the pulls its a different story its normally ford and dodges hell theres a powerstroke called double overtime pushing 1500hp thats fucking crazy.

  • @ktmyamaha01 Haha thats a first someone calling the dirtymax a beast lol dodge had some major transmission problems in the early 2000s so heres an idea dont buy one in the early 2000s and truth about transmissions even you precious allison after 600hp probly wouldnt last to long without work. i dont know what powerstroke your talking about some of the early 7.3s will bend push rods if your running over 500hp. thx for telling me these facts ill make sure to buy a duramax right away. lol

  • @foxyz125 you think im the first calling the dmax a beast? you must not be around diesels a lot... we only have class leading power this year. plus the fact we never see them in the shop. the allisons are used in tanks pretty often and if your pulling with them in a truck on the road, you wont have a single problem. if your making 600hp out of a dmax, then who knows what the torque will be and your obviously gonna want to put money in the tranny because it'll be rated for 400hp and 900tq. duh.

  • @ktmyamaha01 you gotta remember the 6.6 is a 10 year old design its definatly out of its prime 4 years ago it was the diesel to have dodge had transmission issue and ford had the 6.0 GM/Isuzu redesigned the early stage glow plugs and the injectors and also had the most hp/torque witch are in a direct relation so you dont have to wonder anymore lol anyway Dodge has there new i6 6.7cummins no more tranny issues and Ford has leading towing capacity and hp why should i buy a duramax again.
