@ebytje um...no. if you look at the game carefully, it is AC5. AC AH is totally different. also you can see in the end "ace combat 5" and "PS2"

AC AH isnt available for the PS2. so...yeah. and the graphics and all that do suggest that it is AC5.

Fredfredbug, I disagree man. AC4 is the best of all. Although there is not much difference between them anyway because they are all amazing. But the soundtrack on AC4 makes it a level more epic, add to that the incredible storyline of Mobius 1.

@vladiator100 I love Ace Combat 4, but I honestly don't think it was the best. First off, Zero and Five are directly a part of the storyline. The super weapons in Zero were essentially, prototypes of the ones in Five.

Ace Combat 4 had a great soundtrack indeed, I think it wins there. Although Zero had the best track in the entire series (final battle with Pixy) 4 had the best soundtrack overall.

Ah I love how I got this game when it was brand new and it's still in perfect condition along with Acecombat Zero.

Oh and I FINALLY unlocked the damn FALKEN sheesh now that was annoying, but not bad that the story was good enough that I liked listening to it.

@EntertainmentIsGood lol. you still have another plane to unlock. the X-45, which is in the game. the only plane thats in the game but that you can't fly, i think, is the Harrier jet. thats about the only one in the game that only the AI has.

@wolfking164 What I meant to say is that it was common knowledge that the Falken was in the game, and this was actually the 2nd time it appeared in the game. The first time as a boss in one of the old PSone games.

The X-45 could be an easter egg though.

I love the game, but I'm still pissed that they had the F-14D's gun point down 5degrees...makes gunfighting so much harder in my favorite plane. As my kills are a mix of about 1/3rd guns only, 1/3rd missile then guns, then a 1/3rd just missiles...I use the gun alot.

I can't really say that Ace Combat is better than HAWX. After all, the game mechanics of both are totally different. Trying to compare the two is like trying  to compare a saber to a katana. The only thing that HAWX and Ace Combat have in common is the fact that they're flying games.

Here's a good way of thinking about them:

Ace Combat is simulation based whereas HAWX is arcade based.

I can't agree with you totally there. I can't say anything about the PSX AC games, but in the case of Ace Combat 5, I agree. The stories for 4, Zero, and 6 were all straight action based. So in regards to the stories of the games, the only one that really stands out as exceptional and thought provoking was AC5.

No, they're starting to emphasize playing through the same maps differently. Zero had 3 ways for each mission (Mercenary, Soldier, and Knight). For AC6, the emphasis was on achieving certain objectives, each objective having its own ratings. Not to mention that online capability was added.

My thoughts exactly; the F-14 would leave the F-4 in the dust. What's more, it could probably lock-on and fox 2 the F-4 before even showing up on radar; its radar/avionics package is so huge. I don't like its de-commissioning either but I can understand why; those moving wings were a nightmare to maintain and the aircraft broke constantly.
