@barukadroid Yes I know but it's as if I say for France, We speak French it is the similar with Mali, because a lot of people does not know the malinké, that's why I said that it was of the Malian... before criticizing reflexives 1 little, and I am maybe Better educated than you in term of Africa.
Ok! I grew up listing to these two woman sing! they are simply different but equally wonderful. And this song says it all. i love the mix. i love the passion and best of all you can see how proud they are to work on this song together....this love and respect is seen clearly. This song is not a show off of who can sing better, so just enjoy their individual effort and appreciate them, because its what they both just did in the video. And it just so heavenly!
This was awful. Alicia should have let Oumou sing more. She should have dropped the music down low and really let the people hear her beautiful voice. This was all about Alicia. We have heard this song a million times already....
@marques176 ... Oumou Sangare IS Malian ... That is NOT the name of the language though ... I would guess she is singing in Bambarra, a language spoken in Mali.
@marques176 MALIAN IS NOT A LANGUAGE! It's a nationality. The language is maliinke !! God damned folks!! learn a bit about Africa !!!Jii.I hope you know that Africa is not a country right?? Umbeleivable !!!
With this Pronunciation it is bambarang witch is spoke in Mali there are other types of this language with different provocations in guinea, ivory coast, Senegal, liberia, guinea-bissau and Gambia they call the language Mandinko, burkina faso and ivory coast call it jula, But this language comes from The mandinka people witch is a large ethnic groups in west Africa.. :) hope this gives you more information!!!!!
essa mulher é foda q nem ela nao existira nunca voz unica singular alicia keys o poeta esta a te amar a voz mais moldada da terra alicia nice cause i like the combination of the two languages...
just brilliantly mix up these MALIAN AFRICAN & AFRICAN AMERICAN soul flavours, two branches of a same tree, two ingredients of the same roots : mother AFRICA. Like it or not ... it's just facts just free your mind.
two branches of a same tree???? face it ebineli, one root is mixed and the other is not, strange combo in my opinion but both beautiful in its own terms.

OUMOU SANGARE is a true queen of voice but here she is completely wasted.
Listen to her own albums and you will hear that this video dilutes her power.
Keys just uses way too many notes to sing a line which is just over the top.
African music rules!

the same root is AFRICA... the branches are Mali and America. It seems to me that is quite easy to understand.
Event if i really do like this duet, indeed they don't seem to be on the same emotional frequency. But the whole is sounds beautiful to my ears.
