"And it's not surprising, then, they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations,"

From Obama’s Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the {Muslims} should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.' page 261.

From Obama’s speech in San Fransico:

"You go into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them," he said.

From Obama’s Dreams of My Father: ; 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Obama’s Dreams of My Father:

I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa, that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, Dubois and Mandela.'

  • 1 /4 Obama’s Anti-American sentiment.

From Obama’s Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating> myself to whites.'

From Obama’s Dreams of My Father: 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mothers race.'

From Obama’s Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

  • "One shoe size does not fit all. We need different approaches for different types of students" THANK YOU! Now if we get the rest of the 307,517,793 USA population to along with this idea.

Parents are VERY important in a student's education. That's a whole other subject as well. Parents need education reform just as much if not more.

  • Just because test scores are great and a student is an A student, doesn't mean that that student will on and have a career he/she wants. Education needs to match student's strengths. The "Bar" shouldn't be raised the same for everyone. EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT AND WE ALL DIFFERENT STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES. Education should be based on this knowledge. Period.

  • The government focuses too much on money, education aid, etc. not education itself. If you're going to pay teachers and schools are getting all this money, at least do something right and have a good system in place. The government will otherwise be throwing money away and the country and it's occupants will get dumber and dumber.

Great teachers should not just be given raises, but a key to the city (at least). Who choses these "teachers of the year" anyway? I hope it's the students themselves.

  • Students are not going to respect any school system that demeans, ignores, disrespects, or shows lack of intelligence (supervisors, teachers, principals, etc.). Students will look elsewhere (or drop out) and school won't get their money. Bad for ANY school system. We wouldn't want that now, do we?

People have a right to choose how they learn, including kids. Kids need to learn at their own pace as well, pushing to memorize information just for the sake of memorization is not helping anyone.

  • Schools (Any school) cannot ignore when a kid has very good grades and ignore their potential. Letting fall these kids through the cracks should not be acceptable. Kids drop out many times, not just because problems at home, etc. but more than any other reason is because there is no encouragement ANYWHERE. Brilliant minds are going to waste this way.

  • 4) Teachers should understand that students have rights and input. It should be school policy.

  • 3) Teachers should get be given tools on a constant basis to teach kids. Tools can come in the form of new technology info, brain research info, etc. EVERYBODY LEARNS DIFFERENTLY AND EVERY TEACHERS SHOULD KNOW THAT.

  • 2) Teachers should be given evaluations every 3 month at least (just like any employee). Evaluations should be written, "in the classroom", etc. Being a good teacher doesn't mean behaving "teachery" once every 3 months either.

  • Kids don't need tougher standards. That's not how things will get better. Teachers should be trained properly and much better so they can teach kids PROPERLY. 1) Teachers should have an interview prior to becoming teachers to see if they qualify to be teachers at all in the first place (much like parents should have a test before becoming parents, but that's a different subject).
