Its always easier to imitate than to compose--but damn, mayer does an good job. His voice just doesn't do it for me compared to Jimi and his solos don't have that edge.

You could argue to death about Mayer vs. Hendrix, but in this case the only question you have to ask is who actually wrote this song. I think Mayer is amazing but he didn't write this masterpiece. Hendrix did. That's why he's the untouchable. (plus he has his own death to glorify him)

That said, I still think this is a better production. Thats just my opinion.
