The LIRR passes here wow so harminous, summer sunsets over nyc are spectacular, and rare form of nature, I can slightly see the pollution at sunset time

thanks for the info on your camera, I'm in the market for a Sony or JVC Everio. It's just amazing at the quality of the camera you are using. maybe you can post other videos with different settings, but so far I'm sold with this one.

I actually had a Sony TRV-20 back in the mini-dv days of early 2000s. Had it not been the fact that I wanted to time lapse video and discovered that my Sony doesn't have that feature, I wouldn't have bought the JVC. Although Sony do make time lapse camcorder in HD 1080p30, their price range were much higher than JVC's. Depending on how much you are willing to spend, Sony's equivalent would probably offer better feature. i.e., 1080p rather than 1080i, and Remote ready. Good luck.

Probably a lot of the popularity stems from Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News posting it on that Facebook page. He mentioned the music grows on you. I so agree!! This puts me in mind of childhood. As an infant I was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition which resulted in my having abnormally long shin bones. It was...horrific. By the time I was four my shins were as long as the entire rest of my body. Walking wasn't possible. I remember many a glorious afternoon lying on my grandma's lap in her big wooden rocker, the sound of crickets humming in my ears, a gentle breeze upon the cheek. Bliss.

Very nice video. Thank you. Reminded me of Guam's twilight which seemed to last for hours but in reality lasted over an hour because Guam is 13 degrees north of the equator. I miss Guam's sunsets.

@kyu012 Yes it is. Gothamist was so kind to include this on their sunset coverage. I was so fortunate to have the opportunity to capture this last night. Too bad I didn't have another camcorder with me to capture the rainbow on the other side facing east from where I was shooting.
