  • Thumbs Up so Amazon can stop shipping with ENSENDA!!!!!!!

  • Great speech!

  • Thank you, Jeff.

To tell you the truth I did not expect you to be such a wonderful narrator.

It seemed to me that in the end of his speech, pronouncing last words about 80 year old man he would start crying, so sensitive he was.

    Bravo!

  • Jeff Bezos has the perfect surfer dude voice

  • Like is Steve Jobs brought you here!!

  • from what i am learning from those who have worked at the company, Bezos has not yet learned how hard it is to be kind...

  • This was unexpected... I really enjoyed it.

  • amazon is great

  • will you buy books from borders... or will you buy books from AMAZON?

  • He looks like an old woman.... ;-)

  • It's funny how rich & famous people say story so identical to our next door kids

  • Harry Potter podium?

  • I recently sold half of my Amazon stocks, I plan to sell the remaining half later this year. This decision is due to the following specifics 1. The secretive and corrupt culture at Amazon, 2. the heavy-handed culture or work environment Jeff bozos has created. If you will he has created a chimera. This tradition coupled with a heavy-handed, enigmatic culture of mistreating employees is a recipe for disaster.

  • Hmm... same message as Harry Potter.

  • Inspiring. Thanks.

  • This is a good ass speech

  • very intresting to listen!

  • I love the focus on choices making us what we really are! I wonder what he means by "service", but I like how he clarified that being clever and kind aren't opposites. You can be clever and not stomp on other people. The choice is what you do with your gifts.

  • For those bashing Amazon:

It's much easier to hate than to love.

It's much easier to complain than to create something great for mankind.

You can hate all you want (to make yourself feel better), it doesn't make you a better person than the ones you hate.

    Love you all ****

  • Shame on Amazon for pulling Wikileaks data and assisting in narrowing the debate.

I will be boycotting you Amazon and I encourage others to do so too.

  • "It is harder to be kind than clever."

    a derivation of..

"It is harder to be a liar than be truthful"

  • I love AMAZON BECAUSE THEY WILL ISSUE ME A REFUND WHEN I DON'T LIKE THE GAME EVEN UP TO $100 SO WITH THIS SAID i CAN GET MY THINGS FOR FREE! IDIOTS AND THEIR POLICYS ARE RUTHLESS NO HELP TO THE SELLERS! THEY ARE GREEDY !!! AMAZON IS "THE BEAST" THEY SAID HOW CREEPY IS THAT ! I HOPE HE IS HELPING OTHERS WITH THAT MONEY!

  • It´s easier to be clever if you are, if you are not clever it is NOT easier.

  • The intro was annoyingly too long.

  • @phototristan You are absolutely right! Good remark!

  • i think its a good speech

  • In my view, Mr. Bezos presentation is perfection of excellence which comes from honestly blending sincere humility with creative genius and genuine caring. Those who recognize this have earned the right to view this video. Yes, absolutely, "it's harder to be kind than clever." In these days of easy anonymity it's even easier than ever to be lazily critical of everyone and everything. In days gone, certain types of criticism would have earned a red dripping nose.

  • 6.26 minutes.................................

  • I LOVE Amazon. Thank you Jeff Bezos!!

  • Am I the only one that isn't a fan of Amazon? Especially the book selling, unless you're selling pricey books the majority of the sale goes to shipping and fees leaving the person selling it with very little in the end.

  • @educationk12 exactly this speech is blah blah blah! sheess he is greedy you can see how greedy he is by being the seller on Amaozn and see how good you are treated! I do not buy on Amazon, I hate them! I don't sell either, but I know their policys for sellers! Seeing him makes me sick to my stomache! Amazon policys for the sellers SUCK!

  • He's more of a writer than a speaker, but what a good writer he is.

  • Awesome address.

  • good content, bad speaker.

  • are those wizards?

  • why is he talkin' so slow?? .. I feel like a retard

  • talk starts at 6:26

  • @VideoJargon K, I'm hoping it's gonna be good... introduction speech by this woman is terrible!

  • @comster it's a good talk

  • @VideoJargon Thanks. lol.

  • @VideoJargon thanks a lot!

  • Robot speaker drones, both of them!

  • @voterdown It's a Princeton thing. Brainwashed.

    The school of the Nazi.

  • Powerful! As in a powerful to put you to sleep!

Bezos speech is so slow, dreary and dull, he seems to be putting himself to sleep.

As much as I love Amazon this speech poses serious threats to all sleep sedatives like Ambien ! Bezos makes stone look exciting!

  • you can run and tell that, run and tell that, run and tell that, home boy, home home home boy.

  • 24billion per year. Pretty mad! From humble beginnings. Must be a hell of a ride

  • Amazing.. Simply amazing speech..

  • This video should be called "Scholarly woman introduces Jeff Bezos." Sheesh!

  • Quite boring, honestly..

  • @y3kostiv I imagine you are a young male. I am an older male. This is a lesson you obviously are not read to learn. Be warned, learn it if you can or suffer until you do.

  • @DrugsMakeYouStupid wtf? I'm 42 actually, you my older friend?

  • @DrugsMakeYouStupid and what lesson are you talking about? Not to say boring when it's boring? Hypocricy you mean or what?

  • very kind of you:)

  • "harder to be kind than clever" - depends how clever you are or indeed how naturally kind you are. I personally find it easy to be both. I regard unkind people as stupid anyway.

  • @funkEntelechyPlacebo : completely agree with you. Unkind and clever are the biggest idiots more so because they think they are great :)

  • @funkEntelechyPlacebo: So basically you're unkind, at least in your thoughts, to unkind people and you don't even notice.

  • @alpenjon - !!

  • 10:50

  • loved this: "...one day you'll understand that it's harder to be kind then clever...since cleverness is a gift and kindness is a choice"

  • From TED discussion on this speech:

My pal is working at the Amazon.com in Lexington, Ky. He says that the warehouse where the majority of employees work has no A/C and is terribly hot in the typically hot, humid and long Kentucky summer (that's every year for many years since Amazon set a shop here.) There is no way that the management doesn't know this fact. But Jeff says- better be kind than to be clever.

See the rest at TED discussion of this speech. If you don't know TED, google it.

  • @anvoro And I work outside in the arizona summer. What's your point? if the employees can find something better, with better conditions and pay, elsewhere, then they should go there. If not, then Jeff is doing them a favor.

  • Very good speech

  • awesome speech!

  • Live your dream...

    -G

  • A little slow to get going but excellent by the end

  • Jesus this is like watching Milhouse give a speech until 9m45 - should I carry on..?

  • My sleeping disorder is a thing of the past. Thank you, Mr. Bezos.

  • I thought he was going to finish with a "Thank you and God Bless."

  • The right guy at the the right time at the right place and nothing more. I just remember my cousin loosing his own appartment because of stolen books. I am getting mad about this guy who dares to get smart enjoying ideal circumstances.

  • May be the truth hurts. Not all people can enjoy the smoking without consequences. May be it means only that we are basically divided into risky and safe one without knowing this. The truth is that we are still ignorant if you are getting cancer from smoking or because of you faulty genes. But in both cases it is too late because you have already passed your genes to the next generation.

  • nice speech i am inspired

  • Great speech!!

  • Reverend Bezos, amen. SNORE.

  • @Charlesdance That is a graduate gown you silly boy. Not a ministers habit.

You sound very young, or very uneducated. Your youth will be remedied by time. You ignorance will only be remedied if you open your mind.

  • @DrugsMakeYouStupid I was referring to his movements and tempo and demeanor and presentation, I know he ain't a reverend hurr durr durrdy durr. I am actually quite old if you really must know, 68 next week, and I was edumicated by Einstein in the physics so I think I know what I am talking about. Then I fell asleeps.

  • @Charlesdance Apparently you are a liar too. Good Luck.

  • @DrugsMakeYouStupid I just looked above at a comment from somebody else who emotes a similar theme in his scribbling and you labeled him 'young' too. What have you against youth, dude?! Some found it boring, I find you boring, and if that is your girlfriend in your Paris videos I would love to fuck her and squeeze her titties if you want to send her my way. Cheers,

  • Pretty pretentious speech.

  • @dodojardin I thought is was kind and inspiring. My mother always used to say, "You can catch more flies with sugar then you can with vinegar".

  • zzz

  • Thank you Jeff

make me think of my actions, I will be better for it.

  • I like the grandfather's wisdom: "It is harder to be kind than clever."

  • amazing!!

  • why is the host going on blabbering for 5 + minutes.

  • @ateendra123

you obviously don't know much about Shirley Tilghman...

  • @harv83

I really do not have to know. But the point is, this is not a stage where you go about briefing the audience about what Amazon is for 5+ minutes. Everyone know, there could have been better things told about the same what was unknown.

  • @ateendra123 lol @ host

This was a great speech and it really hit home. I'm working on my storybook as i speak :)

  • we are our choices... nice words!

  • Very inspiring and useful speech. The intro, though a bit slow, also has some good points from Jeff's success, so don't skip it.

  • Incredibly inspiring. It really spoke to me.

P.S. skip the 5 minute intro for the sculpted gem
