what?!? It's been 8 months now and this video only has 19k plays?! how is that possible? I guess QHR isn't doing a very good job. This video is excellent, should have millions of plays by now!
WOW! Hell Yeah! Love The Get Up Kids! Listening to a lot of TGUK, Hey You!, Blondie, Green Day, The Offspring, Weezer and No Doubt...MORE PUNK IN 2011 !!
Hey You! is still pretty new, but they're waaaay dope. Cool edge, and cute chick singer too :-) ...you should check em out
Yes, this is very different from their first few albums but when you listen to it, its still very much the get up kids. These guys are incredible musicians who have decided to branch out and experiment with different music. They dont give a shit if you want them to continue doing the same albums over and over again, theyre going to do what they want to do as artists. If you no longer like them, dont listen to them. Dont claim theyre going downhill, because theyre very clearly not.
LOVE this tune. Been a Get Up Kids fan for 12 years, love the older stuff and I like how you're keeping it fresh with your latest album. Hope to see y'all in the UK soon!!
They played this tonight in Springfield, MO. Best song of the night hands down.
As far as new .vs. old GUK? Go see them live and you'll realize there is no difference. The only change is this album was a bit overproduced. This and Walking On A Wire and Action & Action are all blood brothers, once you strip the squeaky-clean production away.
I'm 100% for the TGUK making new music, growing, changing their sound, and have 100% supported them though on a wire, and guilt show, but at some point you have to at least acknowledge your roots and represent the art form that made you what you are, at least thats what I thought this band was always telling me in their first few albums
I don't know why people feel the need to voice their complaints. The guys in the band are in their early to mid 30s now, you expect them to keep remaking 4 minute mile? I am a huge fan of their early stuff too, but you can't expect a band to stop growing and changing. Go learn an instrument and start your own band, you'll see what I mean.
this isn't the band i grew up with. it honestly makes me sad. My brother gave me 4 minute mile when i was like 6 and i remember i saved my allowance to buy Something To Write Home About, it was the first CD i ever bought. i'm gonna go listen to those instead. maybe this will grow on me or something

Such an underrated band...and that's a shame
The Get Up Kids is one of the best bands out there. Indeed

@djbrambles I would say they are way underrated. "one of the best bands out there" is a bit of an overstatement.
sUop99 5 months ago
@djbrambles underrated? they played around the world for less of twenty years, i'm italian and i saw them twice and i have most of their LP's.
but this is the worst stuff ever played by them.
seriously.
