My Elite was hit by this annoying RROD. Actually, it's been a few month. I'm trying to fix it on a couple game shop but it didn't work. Now the Elite start to freez on the XBOX 360 logo, right before entering the dashboard. I'm desperate and I start to think to send it back to Microsoft service center like You did, but is there anyway to check the validity of the warranty? When my Elite RRoD'd, it was off. I turned it on after playing it fine from the night before and it just went straight into the RRoD. It's a bit cooler on its side because the vent holes on the sides allow the hot air to rise out easier.

Honestly Im the kind of person that will always future proof myself. 360 Hdd's come in 60 and 120gb. Go for the 120, you wont regret it when u start installing those games at between 5-9gb each!

Hope i get a new one. Eject button didnt work for some reason. And it froze after 5 min of play or just chillin at the dashboard, it couldnt read discs. To pay this disc put it in the 360 console in multiple languages. And when i play a demo, after 5 min it pops up disc unreadable. lol on a demo.
