Prisoners should work 7 days a week and 10 hour days with one break. Then go back to a cell with 4 walls a bed and a toilet. No TV, no playstation, nothing. These people try to break down our society, threaten our personal safety and property, murder, rape, steal, beat-up us, our family friends, neighbours. These people are sub-human and have no right to any comforts or luxeries. The lowest animals to crawl on the earth and should be threated as such. We should not care aboutthem for one second.
@Casonferal1 Have you done ANY research at all? Even 5 minutes worth? Forget what you hear from your co-workers, friends, family, tabloids, media, etc... Research real "criminals", their real situations, their real sentences and you tell me if putting someone in prison for 20 years for dealing marijuana is what you want your taxes to go to or for putting a non-violent rated criminal who got caught selling crack in prison for life?
@Casonferal1 but the person who molested your best friend's sister, that drunk driver who knew he was getting behind the wheel drunk and killed somebody, that man who broke into your wife's car to steal the pennies on her dashboard, held a gun to her head, but didn't shoot her, those criminals get 2 maybe 4 or 5 years at most. Very most.
@Casonferal1 Just because a man is behind bars, especially in regards to a prison that is part of the Federal Bureau of prisons, does NOT in any way imply or prove that he is a threat to our personal safety. Just a threat to our society in that we are paying 3.6% more a year to prisons holding non violent criminals than we are paying for early childhood education systems and early intervention programs. That's our fault.
@Casonferal1 We are the people who let the government control us, dilute the truth and now we believe it all and are completely content in letting it happen?? Well, not all of us. Just those us who have a mindset like yourself. Have you ever read the story of Kevin Mitnick, who did nothing, NOTHING, that harmed anyone, had no proven intentions to harm anyone or use any of the information he had gained through hacking computer software systems.

Instead of putting them in prison put them in a treatment program. All so help them out with jobs because once you go to prison getting a job is very difficult to do.
@yoiam69 yep. an inability, real or perceived, to deal with the world outside prison often leads them right back to jail, where they are told what do but sheltered n cared for.
Just prision is not the answer, questions have to be asked, like, why did they do the act in the first place, how these people are going to make a living once they are free, etc. If these people are just released, with out the proper treatment, trainning, etc. All that's going to happen is they are going to do it again and ever make their way through life ever with crime or the tax payers.

A lot of convicts have nowher to go, so they will commit a crime on purpose just to go back to jail.

Release the drug addicts into a program.
At least start with the non-violent offenders or separate the non violent from the drug addicts.

@boots920 exactly. even people who hold normally conservative values agree that the drug war has failed.
