  • That is awesome!

  • This is amazing

  • :)

Watching this vid for the first time, and at about the liftoff I was thinking "Only if the rotors would now til..." and they tilted.

  • We can keep container ships far off at sea and only after final inspection of each container then we can bring container into the city port for processing. I wouldn't want a stray nuke coming into our bay in a container on some foreign container ship.

  • I like the sagging wings! _ RcSuperhero

  • This is incredible. I can't wait to see your final product

  • Very good concept. I really like it!

  • All multifunction designs are welcome for the futur world. I like your intelligency of high level.I am sure your vehicle will get through. Wish you good luck and try to make it waterproof which can handled by a button in cockpit.

  • would be possible to power the plane with solar power?

  • its sooo sickk i wanna build one toooooooooooo :)

  • @haitianmc Thx. Doable. I'd be glad to help, seriously. For an experienced heli pilot its rather easy to operate.

  • That is sooooooooo cool

  • Funny thing is that it's easier to make a larger plane than a small rc one :P. Nice job, wasn't expecting to see an actual test flight for awhile :P, but the again, I'm like 6 months behind... as always..

  • What do you do to address the prop design issues of vertical vs high speed. You must have a prop that twists. Why have something hang when you rotate the blades up out of the way? There is a patent on a similar design that rotates the prop down. With proper design, you DON'T need to have vertical takeoff and can still land on a cargo ship as shown...

  • @seaplaneguy1 Yes, twisted planform of similar design and performance as the V-22. Vertical agility in hover is a cruicial capability that is fundamental to target missions.

  • That is an amazing bird! I cant wait to see an auto-rotation at fullscale. I'm thinking the wings would help it out in an auto, maybe lessen the decent rate and increase the glide ratio so to speak. Why did you guys decide to switch from the ka-50 model by Volker Jung to the Helibaby?

  • @tiltrotorcoaxialheli . I like Volker's machine, and still have it. We're currently using the Helibaby because it's half the size, 1/4 the cost, and electric instead of kerosene. All these factors make for a more economical, rapid prototyping platform. If you are interested in building one for yourself, I'd be happy to advise and assist.

  • @tiltrotorcoaxialheli . Yes, what you see is forward landing gear with atached batteries. Our larger designs have turbines and avionics out front, but with this little electric functional flight demonstrator the motor is very light so we needed more weight forward in helo mode. Kinematics are such that this weight shifts to the 1/4 chord of the wing in airplane mode.

  • Wow

  • Wow, that works really good!

  • @RCSuperPowers . You made my day! Means a lot coming from you. Thanks.
