  • What a brilliant idea! Well done! Whose version of "when your'e smiling" is it?

  • @roygift - Thanks for the comment. "When You're Smiling" is by... Louis Prima.

  • Did exactly what it says on the tin... it made me smile. And today, I had other plans...

  • @BigEric42 - Thanks for the view and comment BigE!

  • Great job Buddy !!!

  • Thanks pal!

  • Beautiful family. Did I recognize the "waterboarded" baby? I had some 8mm movie I paid a fortune to have it transfered 10 years ago to VHS by Ritz camera and the quality was awful. This is so amazing.

  • I just love this, very creative indeed, and the ending fun too. very good, it enthuses me to try something with my old photos and footage too

  • Thanks for checking out my home movie, but you really have some great footage to work with! Did you shoot all the original footage yourself? You got great stuff and editing is great too.

  • AWESOME JOB!!

  • Thanks!

  • hi, i really enjoyed the movie you put together, im now using power director 7 and loving it, its good fun, but now your video has made me think of doing something else besides my normal stuff, thanks for the refreshing footage

  • Thank you.

Have you checked out the PD7 User's Forum at the Cyberlink site? A lot of good tips, info, and help there.

  • thanks for the tip, will check out the site now.

  • I like the personality in the Aunt!

  • Is that your mom, with the "personality"?

  • If you're referring to 00:47, no that's Aunt Kirsten. Mom is at 01:34.

  • I just voted for your video on the cyberlink power director contest. I really like your "Dad's home movie part 3 summer" the best.

    Great work as always!

  • Hey, Thanks a lot iamgermis! I appreciate it.

  • Just voted on the contest page.

  • Thanks Taters!!!

  • CP,

I've already watched it twice and will be watching it many more times. What a great feel good, wish we were back in some other time video. And of course, great editing and great choice of music!!! 5*s

I'm going to check out the contest page now.

    Taters

P.S. Audio Preview is kinda freaky.

  • Yea, that new "Audio Preview" is indeed kind of freaky. I didn't notice it when it first got added, so the first time I heard it, I must have accidentally clicked on it (with my volume way up from a previous video I was watching), and when that voice came on, it scared the hell out of me, hahaha.

  • *****! That kid at the end looks familiar. How did you do the transfer?

  • The original films were all on little 8mm Kodak reels. But about 15 years ago, my father had them randomly transferred (without any edits or music) to a VHS tape at one of the local tape/film duplication houses here in town. Then I (15 years later) just "captured" the analog output from my VCR with some software and a module that converts analog to digital Avi files, and imported these files into my editor. Then I started slicing away.

(If you'd like more details, just PM me, and I'll reply)

  • OMG! Audio Preview, new feature, this is fun :)

  • Wow! U R rite!

This! Knew! Aw dee Oh feature! Is! Very cool.

  • I must agree you really were cute! Its fascniating to see these old movies. I wanna convert some of grandpa's and dads movies too when i get some time and there not completly destroyed yet. Was teh blond boy your brother ?

  • Nope, no brothers or sisters (I'm an only child). All the blond boys (except for 2 classmates at 1:06) are me at different ages.

  • You were such a cute kid CP! I love your Home Movies - your dad would have had a blast on YouTube.

  • Hahaha, yea, dad would have been all over this Youtube thing if he'd of had it back in the day. He's almost 87 now, and I take my laptop over to his Alzheimer's home and show him Youtube. He really likes it, but keeps wondering who this TV station is that puts people's private movies their station. Hahaha, he just can't grasp the concept.

  • i wish my folks would have had a video camera! is that your mom at :52? (i remember that lady from other video you have posted.. i was looking for a younger version of your dad but could not tell) those old vids are fun to watch!

  • No, that's my aunt at :52, mom is at 1:34. Dad doesn't show up much in these home movies I posted, because he was usually doing the filming with his 8mm camera. But yea, I'm lucky to have these old films.

  • Just like the old movietone spots before the movie in the old smoky cinema, nice work, evokes old memories! thanks!

  • Thank you Rowdyeh.

  • This made me smile. Great song to go with good times! It makes me wanna pull out my parents old movies and watch some of their good times...

  • Thanks ZT. Yea, let's see some old home movies Toots style!

  • I've got lots of old movies like this but don't know how to convert to movie. :(

  • Sent you a little PM on the subject.

  • Thank you so much!!!!!
