While that is part of it, we also need the unconditional love of God, and the strength He gives. Yes, you can explain the majority of things through science today. But there are others you cannot. And you have to admit, knowing there is someone there who is available to help you 24/7 and loves you no matter how horrible you are is awesome.

I wish people would stop posting negative comments and trying to discredit the Bible. Because I looked into many of these comments, and if you don't just separate a verse and ignore the thoughts of the author and take it out of context then it makes much more sense. If you are going to speak of "contradictions" in the Bible mayby you should actually look yourself and not just Google it, and get things from I biased source.
@something392 There are contradictions all over the Bible, readings I have done on my own and came across on my own. I can't speak for if they're "popular" contradictions easily found online but they are there. For instance, in Genesis it says God created Eve because he saw it was not good for Adam to be alone. And that Adam and Eve(aka man and woman) are to marry, leave their homes and have children. Later on in the new Testament it talks about how it is better for a man to not be married

Why would God tell us that the role of man and woman is to come together as one and have children, just for Paul to come back later and say he thinks it's not a good idea. Paul just said that if you are able to refraim from sex, and you don't feel tempted by these desires, then not getting married would just take another thing off your list. And though God did say that it was essential at the time that did, or the world would never be populated. It's not a contradiction

The people who wrote the Bible claim they were inspired by God and some people believe that they had the "holy spirit(more garbage)" speaking through them. Why would God give humans a duty(to marry and multiple) just to let someone else express "an opinion" that directly contradicts what he says. Throughout history, the list of things we need a deity to explain has gotten shorter and shorter.
That's why man is religious. It's a vestige of an earlier time in our history.

While that is part of it, we also need the unconditional love of God, and the strength He gives. Yes, you can explain the majority of things through science today. But there are others you cannot. And you have to admit, knowing there is someone there who is available to help you 24/7 and loves you no matter how horrible you are is awesome.

Because I looked into many of these comments, and if you don't just separate a verse and ignore the thoughts of the author and take it out of context then it makes much more sense. @something392 There are contradictions all over the Bible, readings I have done on my own and came across on my own. I can't speak for if they're "popular" contradictions easily found online but they are there. For instance, in Genesis it says God created Eve because he saw it was not good for Adam to be alone. And that Adam and Eve(aka man and woman) are to marry, leave their homes and have children. Later on in the new Testament it talks about how it is better for a man to not be married

Why would God tell us that the role of man and woman is to come together as one and have children, just for Paul to come back later and say he thinks it's not a good idea. Why would Paul write something that is in direct contradiction to God's teaching?

Paul just said that if you are able to refraim from sex, and you don't feel tempted by these desires, then not getting married would just take another thing off your list. And though God did say that it was essential at the time that did, or the world would never be populated. It's not a contradiction

The people who wrote the Bible claim they were inspired by God and some people believe that they had the "holy spirit(more garbage)" speaking through them. Why would God give humans a duty(to marry and multiple) just to let someone else express "an opinion" that directly contradicts what he says. Also, the Bible says God created Eve because he saw Adam didn't have a suitable helper.

Baptized Lutheran on my Moms side. Turned Catholic on my Dads side. In mass I just mopped not understanding a thing of their Latina stuff, I never prayed but I also never lost faith, but I felt no connection to God. 5th Grade transferred back to my Moms Lutheran Church and I heard this song and for the first time in as long I can remember I felt connected to God because of this song. Since then I've been confirmed, 4 time missionary, and have felt things that can only be pure miracles.

Matt 2:23: Says Jesus was prophesied to be a Nazarene, except there is no such prophecy in the Old Testament. The scripture doesn't exist.
Matt 27:9: Quotes a prophecy from Jeremiah. There is no such prophecy in Jeremiah.
John 2:17: Quotes a psalm as a prophecy of Jesus. Except the psalm is clearly talking about a SINNER. Was Jesus a sinner?
Matt 2:14: Says Jesus was prophesied to come out of Egypt. The 'prophecy' quoted is talking about Israel (Jacob), not Jesus.

@Discern4 Occasionally you meet an honest one, who even though armed with the usual garden variety apologetics, will admit they don't have the answer when countered. I think it's like leaving an abusive husband, or giving up heroine, you have to hit rock bottom to listen to reason.
