im 6'1 295 and i play d nose/fullback and shit i only run a 5.3 in my 40 but hell i got the size, just had shoulder surgery 4 weeks ago... tore my labrum in my shoulder... hope to be up n ready for my senior year.
Well we're sharing.... I am 6'0, 193 now, but I usually play at around 200, and I have played literally every line position on both sides of the ball, except center :P
wow..well i play high school football, weight about 140, and play nose tackle..so..any advice?ive been eating alot and am not gaining alot of weight, but, im fast and strong, i power through the hole(nohomo) and get the QB. its only hard when im double-triple teamed
I dont know what to tell you to bulk up because maybe you just have an extremely fast metabolism (sorry if spelling is wrong) and what I would do is to just workout, get weight from muscle, and just eat and eat. One thing you could do is eat some like bars that put on water weight and then you can turn that into muscle so youll be just a machine.
well thats nose tackle you probaly have the harderst position on defense. im 14 and played football 3 years so im guessing you wont want any advice from me but i weight 155 and im 5'7 so just eat like an animal and work out lie a beast
damn i think i left this comment a long time ago when i was just startin defense and didnt know what to play but yeah, now im a free safety, workout, eat big, and take no xplode and soon will take protein shakes
Dude, I hope thats 140 kg. You have no business being on d-line weighing 140 pounds, even in high school. I play college ball at nose and 3-tech, weighing 300 lb and that's average size for the position. In high school I played LB weighing 200 lb. I don't see you gaining 130 pounds over the next 4, 5 years to be a light d-tack in college. Best advice I can give you is, go talk to you DB's coach. Having played on d-line should make you a killer safety. Never say I can't, but be smart.
lol yeah i put that comment a longass time ago when i didnt know anything about football, it was my freshman year and first year of football. Im a safety lol
Still, at a 4.6 40, you could pretty much just back up, make sure the play didn't get behind you, and then come downhill on people, an dlower the boom :P
My 40 time is something like a 5.3 (I'm not that fast), and even I can manage that, while still being probably just as dumb as he is (I am also a Nose Tackle, sometimes)
thats good when u get double-triple teamed. it means your other tackles and linebackers have an easy pass through the line. I had 4 linemen team me at once, and the linebacker lit the QB up. and no, u dont need much more weight, just grow muscle, not weight. there's a junior in Odessa who weighs 145 and hes starting nose and has Florida and Southern Cal eyeing him. Good luck, and have fun.
fuck u iam a Dt and finished ip my Jr. year in high school with 12 sacks 80 tackles and 33 tackles for a loss.... 6forced fumbles and i have the scouts checkin me out alrdy
lol its because i have bad knees and when i play nose tackle the center dives at my knees and takes me down hurts like hell and i missed like 3games in one season because i played nose tackle and got injured.
it seems like alot of lineman have bad knees these days especily the big guys. but my problem wasnt bad knees, it was shin slpints. i was supposed to be startin varsity this year as a sophmore but shin slpints got in the way and messed up my season. how much do u weigh?
i kno im a little late, but watz ur bench n squat maxouts? n watz ur 40 time n wat u do for speed? im trying real hard to make it into college for football
im playing nose tackle to im 6'3 260 and for speed i would recommend wearing ankle weights after practice and doing gasers every day it made me alot quicker so what school you play for

being quick and tough is all you need, our varsity nose tackle is 140 lbs but is tough as nails and runs a 4.6 fourty
WhackyZaid 2 years ago
If he weighs 140, and runs a 4.6 40, why the hell aren't you guys putting him at safety? :S
ChargersLVII 2 years ago
because he was dumber than a box of rocks. lol he couldnt handle covering anyone. had a great year at NG though
