WHY DO WHT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING!!! ?????? DONT GO TO COLLEGE... LEARN TO PROGRAM A LANGUAGE, MAKE A WEBSITE AND START YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND MAKE MONEY IN THE BILLIONS!
It's sad to see how many college grads face weak job markets. Several people who graduated with me still haven't found jobs, but I encourage everyone to not lose hope!
There may be shortage in people in science and engineering, but there is NO shortage of people in the humanities and assorted fields like business and Sociology.
How the hell is 17% normal? people go to college to get a job and then only 17% of the people are able to get jobs? Thats not normal at all. 95% sounds normal to me. thats only about 1 in 7 people.
I have a master's degree, but most of my experience is in b.s. low-level office jobs, which don't even seem to be available these days. Most businesses care more about your work experience than your education, so I'm regarded as a mediocre office clerk and not the media specialist and award winning writer with a high IQ that I have proven myself to be.
I'm a Columbia alumni. My tuition was $17,000 per semester. I graduated with MS degree. I've been unemployed for 2 years. Now I have a mountain of debt. I threw away my money and youth to study. Now I can't qualify for welfare, food stamps, unemployment. I'm fucked. BTW I'm loosing all my stuff, and i'm going to be homeless. Don't be a sucker sheeple! Through tuition hikes--You're paying for the pensions and entitlements and lining the pockets of politicians. Thank you and merry x-mas.
I'm depressed.. will be 2 years since I've been out of school this december and I have almost nothing to show for it.. i need a fing job.. going insane!
I have an employment opportunity available at my company. It's a hip-hop record label; so, I am looking to build a street team of professionals to help me make my business a success. I am looking for Public Relations Counselors, Marketing Representatives, Lawyers, Songwriters, e.t.c. Send inquiries to Atheos Records, LLC. As long as you got an Associates degree I will hire you as an independent contractor. Applicants who live in Miami, FL need only apply!!!!
@cameron120587 that means if you're college is not on the top 10 in us news and world report best colleges list-- i hate to say this but---you won't be considered. and uh, why'd you waste your time and money going to that shit school anyway?
shit who is this lady? what a crock of shit almost no one is hiring college grads they want experience. shit i have two internships already what a load of crap.
Hahahaha, the only people making money are the professors selling these stupid, naive, kids an "education". These crooks are in the business of selling hopes and dreams.
Wow, she's a liar. "Shortage in certain areas" the science areas are in demand, suddenly gets expanded to everyone can find a job. Perhaps if colleges didn't mislead us into thinking any major lead to a good job we wouldn't be in this mess.
@evarojas and those that do have a job are likely to be underemployed. 50% of all college grads are either unemployed or working HS level jobs. You will find many grads waiting tables for example. Those that have those great jobs are either rich kids that went to work for Daddy, grads from Ivy league schools where the name of the school gets them the job or they are just lucky. and employers dont care if you graduated. they only care if you have experience. No experience no job
This is a stupid argument. There is no reason why what you consider to be a "Janitor's job" MUST exist. There are many ways to get WORK done without resorting to low paid, low class, repetitive JOBS. There are to many examples to list here about how this could work. But basically, your arguement boils down to "If everyone has a phd, whose going to wipe asses".
And our generation is full of these people who think they know everything and try to tell us what to do but they never even experienced what the hell we go through. Man you said it! "danr2019"
so her job is to tell us how to get a job? Id rather hear from someone who hires people or got a job in this economy.....somewhere besides through daddys connections

More lies by the media. Yeah but soon health care will be overflow as well because college graduates will seek to these "industries" .
1981footboy 2 years ago 2
I wouldnt worry about too many people being in health care, since health care is a VERY broad industry with tons of different positions. :)

If everyone in this world has BS or BA, who will work as Janitor?
Even janitor will have BS or BA?
