Despite of the mistakes he makes, Adam is one of the few people who make this notoriously difficult etude sound interesting. Others make it sound like a colourless and boring exercise for the right hand.
HappyWandy457, if you ever tried to grasp this exceptionally Ethude with all the great difficulties of controversal rythms through chromatic self-killing fingerings and manage self control to bring musical expression of complicated melisms, then you are intiteld to bring foward some critic of somebody who brought up a magnificent piece of musik with nearla technical perfection.

@Nalicita Don't you think "Very Messy" is a bit harsh?! I mean, I think it was a very CLEAN performance and execution of this piece! Sure, it wasn't 100% perfect, but it was VERY close and INCREDIBLE!
@chutdigadut I guess it sounds a bit harsh but for a professional performance it was pretty messy. He made some mistakes but that wasn't the biggest problem, after the first few measures his left and right hand were out of sync and that's pretty noticeable unlike a few wrong notes here and there.
@Nalicita Yup, it was so incredibly disgustingly messy that the entire crowd of concert piano fanatics gave a standing ovation and asked for an encore. Get a life. You are not better than him, in fact nobody is, and therefore you can't criticize an almost flawless performance, unless of course, you're asian.
@mmanna82 I'm sorry I did not recall commenting that it was disgusting just that it was 'very messy' but also very difficult and again like I said two months ago. It was pretty messy for a professional performance although still quite impressive. I also find it disturbing that a performance has to be 'almost flawless' to be enjoyed. I found it flawed and I don't particularly like his style but I can understand anyone who did. No offense was intended.
@WGBraves24 I'm not piano major, but I can still notice the mistakes. But in all fairness does it matter if he makes mistakes? It's natural. And the rest of the playing is amazing.
I don't think this piece matched his particular stye. I am a big fan of some of Gyorgy's other performances however! My dislike of this rendition is more because, of the chopin etudes, i think this is one you can take a lot of liberty with as far as dynamics go, and I think he missed the chance to put his own particular spin on it.
Yes, buddy. It is not. I stand for my words. And I have played 3 of the 4 scharwenka concertos, Moszkowski concerto and pretty much all Saint-Saens.. well, and what not. Have you?
i really just came here to listen to the piece, not to see supposedly grown up ppl act like this and try to make themselves feel superior in order to make up for their deficiencies in real life (on account of being huge losers that no one likes, maybe?). so please just leave me alone, and spare me the details of your "genius piano playing", ok? i already regret reacting to ur comment, it was obvious u'd just talk more bullshit no one wants to hear
OK.. I'll leave you alone, but you know.. you are the rude one here, so I guess I regret it more for replying to your comment. I was just about to explain why this piece is easy and why it is hard in the same time. But anyway. I meant no harm. Keep listening.

well, first I'll say that I love his performance but it's also true that there are a few mistakes, some are actually quite big and unexpected from such a great pianist who usually plays almost flawlessly (I really like his work^^)
Anyway, it's still a very nice performance, very enjoyable with good overall sound, powerful dynamics and a whole lot of emotions put into it! :)
I agree with courageux28. Who are we to criticise the playing of such remarkable pianists? Besides im sure chopin made his fair share of mistakes in his dissapointengly short lifetime. How can we judge such great pieces. You try playing those pieces.

I am Libertein818 not sm1 I said the comment. You can't compare anyone to chopin really. Chopin is the best there ever was and ever will be. All i meant was that chopin was only human so he would have made mistakes every now and then like everyone does, and he died when he was only 39 so it's dissapointing that his life was so short. Had he lived longer he would have written more pieces.
