  • I didn't know Daniel Tosh was a pianist

  • Despite of the mistakes he makes, Adam is one of the few people who make this notoriously difficult etude sound interesting. Others make it sound like a colourless and boring exercise for the right hand.

  • oh.. ah..ahh..ahhhh..

  • the violinist's face is melting.

  • if i hadnt take a crap a few mins ago id have shit myself.

  • *WOW* He's smoking HOT!!!!!!

  • 10 people need to go die in a hole

  • At the really end he looked up and thought: "Thank you, God!"

  • Wow!!

  • lol, he was playing the 2nd hungarian rhapsody as an encore

  • ...and the people in the orchestra are thinking, "Darn, I should have learned piano!"

  • HappyWandy457, if you ever tried to grasp this exceptionally Ethude with all the great difficulties of controversal rythms through chromatic self-killing fingerings and manage self control to bring musical expression of complicated melisms, then you are intiteld to bring foward some critic of somebody who brought up a magnificent piece of musik with nearla technical perfection.

  • It's like floodwaters bursting from between the keys!

  • 3:50 haha

  • OMG i love chopin! he lays os good!!

  • i think i`m in love...

  • I want to have a good night sleep with you and with your piano Mr.Gyorg although I am not gay but I am desperate for thaht kind of playing though... .

  • \m/ Frederik Chopin \m/

  • wow

  • i actually like the "harsh" way he plays very much!

  • Bardzo Bardzo Pięęęęęęęęęęęęknie Bardzo Najmocniej Kocham Muzykę

  • Chopincore!

  • haha hungarian rhapsody for encore!!

  • Comment removed

  • that's greate :-) only Hungarian and Polish can understend Chopin :-)

  • it sounds like diamonds! friggin amazing tone

  • I love how he can easily play a tenth.

  • è pieno di errori... conosco a memoria il pezzo e me ne accorgo benissimo... non è curato quanto la campanella o gnomenreigen di Liszt

  • 3:06 three notes that break my heart

  • Brilliant ... does any1 know where I could get sheet music for this ?

  • @tien789 lol.....ever thought about musicstore.

  • Thanks to Adam Gyorgy there is finally something from Chopin that I like, apart from his Ballade 1 and his Prelude in E minor of course.

  • I had never heard of him before today. How is that possible?

  • Neat. Beautiful.

  • evgeny kissin's version better than this

  • Adam Gyorgy has wonderful technique in this song. =]

  • can human fingers even move that fast and hit all the right keys? 0_0 his hands must have really hurt when he was done with the song......sugoi!!

  • W-O-W!!!!!!!

  • Unbelievable technical abilities!! His fingers are flying...his performance is effortless...favorited!!

  • Mmmm not much of an interpretation, but technically beast. Seriously though, dynamics?

  • but the piece is very difficult

  • very messy

  • @Nalicita Don't you think "Very Messy" is a bit harsh?! I mean, I think it was a very CLEAN performance and execution of this piece! Sure, it wasn't 100% perfect, but it was VERY close and INCREDIBLE!

  • @chutdigadut I guess it sounds a bit harsh but for a professional performance it was pretty messy. He made some mistakes but that wasn't the biggest problem, after the first few measures his left and right hand were out of sync and that's pretty noticeable unlike a few wrong notes here and there.

  • @Nalicita Yup, it was so incredibly disgustingly messy that the entire crowd of concert piano fanatics gave a standing ovation and asked for an encore. Get a life. You are not better than him, in fact nobody is, and therefore you can't criticize an almost flawless performance, unless of course, you're asian.

  • @mmanna82 I'm sorry I did not recall commenting that it was disgusting just that it was 'very messy' but also very difficult and again like I said two months ago. It was pretty messy for a professional performance although still quite impressive. I also find it disturbing that a performance has to be 'almost flawless' to be enjoyed. I found it flawed and I don't particularly like his style but I can understand anyone who did. No offense was intended.

  • @Nalicita I am with you, this is pretty messy. His Liszt is better.

  • if i could play piano like him, i'd be walking around with a permanent smile!

  • @d7ave If you had this permanent smile, I would say you don’t interpret Chopin right.

And maybe you could say I don’t speak English right.

  • @d7ave just smoke weed ;D

  • People, the clap in sync means for an encore. xD

Anyway, it was exceptionally good. The few mistakes aren't really noticeable unless you are a piano major. Of course, Adam is a wonderful pianist. :)

  • @WGBraves24 I'm not piano major, but I can still notice the mistakes. But in all fairness does it matter if he makes mistakes? It's natural. And the rest of the playing is amazing.

  • szép volt!

  • Either way, i think comments to such clips should be disabled.. too good to spoil it.

  • ur to classy bro to be playing this..sry :'(

  • I don't think this piece matched his particular stye. I am a big fan of some of Gyorgy's other performances however! My dislike of this rendition is more because, of the chopin etudes, i think this is one you can take a lot of liberty with as far as dynamics go, and I think he missed the chance to put his own particular spin on it.

  • Haha, the chick at 3:50-3:52 near the bottom right of the screen. I like her head and face movements suggesting "Eh...yeah, he's alright."

    Made me laugh.

  • Havent we already, licafarafrica :)

  • encore *****

  • lmao at the end... wtf?

    Great performance anyway

  • amazin'

  • seriously who claps in time? what a lame audience. i would've been on my feet clapping way more enthusiastically than these people.

  • The last passage is outstanding!

  • Actually, the basso isn't difficult at all. The only thing is to pracise the right hand,to practise, to practise, to practise and to practise.

  • Absolutely. It's not a hard piece...it's just a fast one - yet, very beautiful. So far Gyrgy's version sounds best in my ears.

  • Ich verstehe dich nicht

  • its not a hard piece? god, u probably cant even play the easiest czerny etudes, otherwise u wouldnt be talking such bullshit

  • Yes, buddy. It is not. I stand for my words. And I have played 3 of the 4 scharwenka concertos, Moszkowski concerto and pretty much all Saint-Saens.. well, and what not. Have you?

  • Oh and yes... I played that Etude when i was 15.

  • yeah right... someone whos actually got skills doesnt show them off like a 12 year old child by commenting on youtube videos

  • Ahm.. im sorry, I wasnt commenting my skills.. Not before you showed up. If you can't play this etude, then go learn it. It takes only 1 year.

  • i really just came here to listen to the piece, not to see supposedly grown up ppl act like this and try to make themselves feel superior in order to make up for their deficiencies in real life (on account of being huge losers that no one likes, maybe?). so please just leave me alone, and spare me the details of your "genius piano playing", ok? i already regret reacting to ur comment, it was obvious u'd just talk more bullshit no one wants to hear

  • OK.. I'll leave you alone, but you know.. you are the rude one here, so I guess I regret it more for replying to your comment. I was just about to explain why this piece is easy and why it is hard in the same time. But anyway. I meant no harm. Keep listening.

  • whatev dawg i forgot what that was all about and quite frankly i dont care. (or even if i spelled frankly right) lol

  • oh now i totally remember.

hahah this wasnt toward adam! i love him

It was some loser down in the comment list. lol youll see it if you look more. it was some ridiculous fight and my comment didnt make it under that one i replied to. so sorry for all of your misunderstandings.

  • haha :)).. ok.. i'm sorry too

  • i one day wish to have the courage to play this in my dreams.....

  • my favourite piece! this man is awesome

  • Großartig! Sehr klare Artikulation. Jedoch bevorzuge ich das von Boris Berezovsky gespielte.

  • Ganz Genau

  • audience is not appreciative enough

  • this is perfect video game boss music.

  • Its too good for a video game.

  • Cette étude est particulièrement redoutable parce qu'elle révèle en pleine lumière et sans erreur possible la musicalité de l'interprète.

  • Eventually I will be able to play this piece. By my calculation It will take me about 254 years and some change. but it is in theory possible.

  • out of all the winterwind videos ive seen this one is by far the best.

  • This blows my tiny brain! The music and playing style is incredible. This pianist is in my top two or three for sure.

  • Thats so beautiful... I want to be able to play like that.

  • he is my favorite

  • that is an amazing video... and the only way we can play that piece withour mistakes is...without playing it at all...

I have try that piece at the past...with a million of mistakes...

  • gratulálok, zseniális

  • well, first I'll say that I love his performance but it's also true that there are a few mistakes, some are actually quite big and unexpected from such a great pianist who usually plays almost flawlessly (I really like his work^^)

Anyway, it's still a very nice performance, very enjoyable with good overall sound, powerful dynamics and a whole lot of emotions put into it! :)

  • EXCELLENT !!

  • I agree with courageux28. Who are we to criticise the playing of such remarkable pianists? Besides im sure chopin made his fair share of mistakes in his dissapointengly short lifetime. How can we judge such great pieces. You try playing those pieces.

  • obviously this is a reply to sm1's comment but i can't see whose it is. but please explain how you're "sure chopin made his fair share of mistakes in his disappointingly short lifetime".

and u can't be possible comparing this guy to chopin...it's silly of me to even assume so :P

  • I am Libertein818 not sm1 I said the comment. You can't compare anyone to chopin really. Chopin is the best there ever was and ever will be. All i meant was that chopin was only human so he would have made mistakes every now and then like everyone does, and he died when he was only 39 so it's dissapointing that his life was so short. Had he lived longer he would have written more pieces.

  • i didn't mean that you were "sm1" i meant that what you said must have been a reply to someone else's comment. i assumed that because it seemed like you were were talking to another person.

  • Oh. right fair enough. well it was ages ago when I posted that comment so I don't really remember. But most of the time when I post comments it's in response to what someone else said. : )

  • BRAVO!

    Winterwind....a fabulous piece from chopin...

    combination of power and speed...

    @chopinandliszt

I agree...this piece was so difficult..

    the mistakes r negligible....

  • My friend is evil... He's learning this at the moment so he's making me suffer with him ;-;

  • He should've started dancing when the audience was clapping in unison...

  • He is so amazing! So is Chopin (of course). I love this piece can't get enough.

  • Franzliszt, even if he made mistakes, they are negligible.

  • This piece is very good and no mistake. Hi ˝FranzLiszt2˝ , you are a big mistake... I think. You would like to play this piece better? I would like to see ... go on!!!

  • he made some mistakes ? really ? ok... and so.. what ? you have nothing to say more ? I don't mind this "mistake" nobody is interesting about your comment and those "mistake"... where is your emotion ?.. and your critic about this great pianist and this beautifull piece...

  • Well put...I'd like to see FranzLiszt2 post a piece by Liszt or Chopin without a mistake. Adam Gyorgy is a world class player with passion.

  • The piano sounds sooooooooo GOOD. Good quality piano. LOVE IT.

  • woah... 0:20 stunned me! at first i turned up the volume because i couldnt hera an thing, and then Boom! Absolutely astonishing

Adam's version is IMO the best on youtube

  • Bravó Ádám!!!

  • I don't know why is it supposed to be emotional but I have heard this piece in a couple of interpretations and it always sounded cold like this-cold and beautiful.

  • Actually I agree with nousername... I do admire Gregory's technique and I envy his velocity... But I can't sense any emotion in the piece. That piece is supposed to be very emotive.

  • Who is Gregory?

  • bravo

  • i'd like to see you play that

  • excuse my language everyone... but nousername... you're a FUCKIN IDIOT!!! do you have any idea how hard that piece is to play? you're a goddamn fool

  • Being a piano player is not all about technique. And there's no use using that kind of language you know.

  • you are the fucking idiot if you think that the quality of a piece is determined by how hard it is to play... speed is only a function of coordination and motor memory PERIOD. It is the rest that determines musicality.

  • did i ever say that the quality of the piece is determined by how hard it is to play... no i never said that you godamn idiot. some people are so stupid. they make no godamn sense....

  • It was like a breeze of fresh air

Thank you for the posting and thank you Adam

  • The perfect speed. Very good interpretation.

  • Quite relaxing, then tense..then he's breathing.

  • WUK89. De quel droit vous permettez-vous de juger aussi durement ce pianiste? Sur ce site, nous rencontrons une foule de petits connaisseurs prétentieux et ignares. C'est dégoûtant ces commentaires. Ils sont l'oeuvre de jaloux!

  • I am surprised by the negative comments. Notwithstanding the odd memory lapse, Adam Gyorgy has a polished tone, impressive technique, and above all, the ability to bring out the melodic grandeur and emotional power of the etude.

Definitely a pianist to watch out for.

  • Wow - incredible piece of music! Thank-you Adam - and Thank-you Chopin!

  • i doubt that YOU can play winter wind, nephilim207, so cut him a break.

  • WHY DOES THAT FILHTY AUDIENCE CLAP AS THE MEXICAN DOES ON A SUNDAY MORNING? They are like a 3rd grade class of mongoloids.

  • If there were americans as good as HE is, you would not be here with these "Mexicans". Just drool a little.

  • nemtommit, I have no fucking idea what you're saying.

  • That was for this "mongloid wenchington".

  • I agree with WENCHINTON.

  • I agree with yor comment...but just WTF were you trying to do by approving your own message?? hoping for it to sound strong?? I think that it's just the opposite

  • and dumb

  • Explosive!

  • It gave me chills how good it is, got goose bumps all over. Bravo!!!

  • its too slow and full of errors

  • wait and see what this guy will be like in another ten years. All that I have seen from him so far is spectacular. I think that he is a perfectionist

  • It's a very difficult etude, but Adam played it very well, the melody and chromatic are vry clear... Hope i can play it like that one day, and it's quick tempo also.. bravo..

  • "I think it was perfect. After all it`s an etude."

Even etudes can be beautiful. I too prefer more dynamics, but it's still a great recording.

  • he will soon be one of the greats

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA DA BIATCH at 3'50, apparently da only one who can read a ztopwatch in diz hall

  • I think it was perfect. After all it`s an etude.

  • i agree with nuramon345

  • definitely not perfect

  • Very good... but IMHO he's too "regular"... very few rubatos and some poor dynamics... of course he's a virtuoso and very young!!! With time he can become one of the "greats". And what a big hand!
