There's something about these recordings...they just don't capture the intensity of a live motorhead. Then again, I doubt that the recording equipment of the day could properly contain the sheer insanity energy that is Motorhead.

@ALLARAKIALUAI Metallica's version was really a just rehearsal for Lemmy's 50th birthday and wasn't meant for any official studio release. They did put it out as "Motorheadache" later on for the Fan Club members, but that wasn't why they recorded it; it was to quickly run through the songs they were going to play at the party. They just happened to have a DAT machine running which captured it for their purposes. If you'd read the "Garage Inc.' liner notes, you'd already know all this.
