Which has NOTHING to do with talent. If those guys were playing now and had developed in the way modern players do, you would be singing a different tune. TALENT is timeless. Off ice working out and development will always improve.

Savard`s goal against deadmonton was a sweet payback to sather who, despite savards exploits, kept leaving him off the national squad when he was coaching. He skated by the oiler bench and made a big head motion to sather after that goal. Couldn`t stand sather much...can`t say many did.
U can't say that bout Denis Savard. Ok maybe his passing percentage wasn't so great, but come on look at him, their was a reason why he wasn't passing the puck, he was probably the best player on that team at that time, well at least on that line. When u got a guy like who can stick handle, move his feet, position himself in ways others can't, then u pretty much don't have to pass the puck. Plus Chi-town should've lined him-up with better wing-men.

Dennis Savard provided Michael Jordan excitement to hockey . He had so many amazing goals and played on some of the best Chicago teams. If not for Edmonton Oilers the Hawks would have one a cup or two with Savard

This "showboat guy" Linus Omark reminds me of him. I dont think it would be bad for the NHL to get more of this type of players..eventhough the game has changed a lot sinds then.

Too much fucking clutch and grab now. You try this stuff today and you get hammered or smeared against the advertising along the boards. A small satisfaction but still, hockey today has little in common with hockey then.

While I agree that hockey has changed a lot, you have it backwards. They've done a pretty good job of eliminating the clutch and grab from hockey today.
Watch this video more closely, Savard gets hooked several times going up the ice. Those would all be penalties now.

Savard`s goal against deadmonton was a sweet payback to sather who, despite savards exploits, kept leaving him off the national squad when he was coaching. He skated by the oiler bench and made a big head motion to sather after that goal. Couldn`t stand sather much...can`t say many did.

U can't say that bout Denis Savard. Ok maybe his passing percentage wasn't so great, but come on look at him, their was a reason why he wasn't passing the puck, he was probably the best player on that team at that time, well at least on that line. When u got a guy like who can stick handle, move his feet, position himself in ways others can't, then u pretty much don't have to pass the puck. Plus Chi-town should've lined him-up with better wing-men.

@LemmingAttack Old time hockey was way better. Not this shit we have today where everything is a penalty. Also shootouts are lame, they should just have one, twenty minute overtime period in regular season and if no goal is scored its a tie. That's better then a game coming down to a shootout.
