  • those spins were sick

  • damn he turns turns and turns and score

  • go hawks

  • Hate seeing Jeremy in that ugly phoenix jersey he belongs in a Hawks jersey. Great goal by Denis

  • ffs he should go and figure skate.

  • Is there anyone who would challenge him?! They are all sitting back frightened that he's going to do what he did.

  • One of the greatest skaters in the game.

  • Not to diminish Denis's abilities, but these goals all occurred before the dead puck era and the renewed focus on defense we see today.

  • i remember this goal. being a huge oiler fan. i was young. damn i damn near pooped myself. such a beauty.

with that said. i love the savardian spins.

  • @theRitchardgaleHater they're also all born with a pussy.

  • @funforalgernon Ha, I caught that too.

  • @funforalgernon I'll be you feel very superior now. WOW did you EVER give it to THAT guy!!!

  • @SpinnerMC I'm sorry -- I guess we're both fighting for a better YouTube.

  • I never seen that last goal he scored in the video before those spin o ramas were the best.

  • HAHAHA, there are 3 goalies in the last goal he still scores.

  • @jasonbaz77 Sorry, you have got the wrong person. Just sayin

  • what a puck hog ahahah

  • hes my girlfriends grandfather :D

  • @thematt1196 hey i played 20 years in the nhl won to stanly cups and 20 con smithes any 1 can say what they want on here

  • Damn those goalies back then were awful.

  • Savy is so nasty with that puck

  • how did he not get dizzy on that last one?

  • If you dont like this video is because ur a total fag!

  • Savard Goal's<Eberle's First

  • Yep those spin-o-ramas wouldn't cut it in today's NHL..

  • @plaidchuck

Savard in his prime would be an all-star in ANY era.

  • your all retarded... STFU

  • @SpinnerMC yeah... he mad.

  • 2 words: Steve Yzerman

    The Captain. THE captain.

    I miss you stevie.

  • @jasonbaz77 i laugh at this comment because what you are doing is just trying to get a 'thumbs up' on your comment from everybody hahaha. 1. I wish what you said made sense and 2. You are gay

  • Denis Savard > Glen Anderson, Esa Tikkanen, Kevin Lowe, Grant Fuhr.

  • #MYTH

  • hes a hog haha

  • @SpinnerMC ;)

  • @CityofEvil15 Have you seen the goal Ovie scored from his back that was 10 worse by the defenseman and goalie than this, yet people constantly shit bricks over it. The fact that he even got the shot off was incredible, have you ever taken a shot while being dragged down to the ice it is not easy. Also he gets hooked earlier in the play and he doesn't lose control at all. Very few players now could pull this play off. He's a Hall of Famer you are not. Don't trash shit you know nothing about.

  • you are not a hall of famer...what are you this guys' lawyer. Hop off his cock. Kronwall or phaneuf would kill this guy in two seconds. Pass time hockey is overrated my friend. Take a seat

  • @CityofEvil15 Yea and that guy Wayne Gretzky he sucked and would've never made it in todays game. Bobby Orr couldn't even make the AHL now. Gordie Howe pfft that guy was just and old fart. Mario Lemieux would've been a fourth line goon in nowadays. Mike Bossy more like Mike Pussy. Maurice Richard HA! don't make me laugh. Marcel Dionne, talentless hack. Mark Messier, LOSER! I'm so glad we don't have to watch chumps like that play anymore. Have I captured you're feelings appropriately?

  • @Clumpapotamus You are so dumb. They were great players in their time. Players like Ovechkin and Datsyuk have so much more skill level than any of those guys. Its like im arguing with a two year old here. Hockey back in the day wasnt nearly as talented as it is now. Just look at all of highlights from a while ago..everyone skates like they have a four foot stick up their ass.

  • Comment removed

  • @CityofEvil15 Hockey was all talent back in the day. The reason it looks like "everyone skates like they have a four foot stick up their ass" (as you so eloquently put) is because there was a lot less development and working out off the ice as there is now. Which has NOTHING to do with talent. If those guys were playing now and had developed in the way modern players do, you would be singing a different tune. TALENT is timeless. Off ice working out and development will always improve.

  • @Clumpapotamus Oh so now you are saying that if you do off ice training doesnt increase your game?..lol.. I wish that made sense

  • @CityofEvil15 I'm saying it does help but it doesn't add TALENT. Talent is a special or natural ability or a capacity for achievement or success. You can't be come more or less talented, you are born with a certain talent level. Old school hockey players were just as talented as modern players. Some like the I mentioned before (Savard included) were more talented.

  • @CityofEvil15 grant fuhr is beter the most of todays goalies and lets see you beat every single fuckin player on the oilers dream team, get your facts straight before you open your fuckin mouth

  • @Slushyyy639 you call that a dream team? lmao. hahaha.. someone is getting mad! hehe

  • @CityofEvil15 1) Any goalie would stop this? Oh yeah, because goalies today don't get beat on dekes.

    2) Kronwall is an open-ice hitter. You can't do that shit when the guy is pulling semi-circles in confined spaces.

    3) You must be trolling. Even if you don't think this is the greatest, any reasonable hockey fan wouldn't call this "shit". It's a beautiful goal.

  • @EdgeHeadTubeV2 nah nah nah

  • @CityofEvil15 In fact you got the point. These so-called defensemen are like dumb dummies. Even goalies are much more clever and better all round. And that's maybe why Gretzky could do so many points during 80s - the netminders used to be really miserable.

  • @dejffjed i know man..this shit is whackk

  • @CityofEvil15 Buddy, Lemieux played in the 80's in what u say was filled with horrible goalies and horrible dmen. But he retired for 3yrs in 97 and came back in 2000-2001 in the middle of the dead puck era and got 76 points in 43 games 35 of which were goals. After THREE years off. Yet you're trying to say that the guys like him back in the 80's were no good? Shows your hockey IQ.

  • @91Fedorov5691 Woahh big guy . Im saying the so called 'talent' back then i nothing like it is today. There is not one guy back then that is nearly as good as Pavel Datsyuk. You can say 'oh this guy had 95 points in the season...' but if you compare the offense from back then to today's defense and goaltenders..the offense would be shut down ..im not even kidding.

  • @CityofEvil15 Sure the overall talent level is better. But superstars from back then are probably just as good as today. Just look at the way savard skated and his hands. Pure dirty skills. And atleast superstars then showed up to play when it counted unlike 2 twins this year

  • @91Fedorov5691 They are skills.. I know what your saying but look at the defense in the video.. Its like skill vs a buch of idiots..You cant tell me the D in this video are good lol... but anyways man...the twins are overrated..they didnt even deserve to make this year..after that stanley cup performance i wanted to throw up and im not even a canucks fan

  • @CityofEvil15 Yea they were brutal. But i mean ive seen plenty of dmen get undressed in the last few years. I remember a goal where Forsberg makes Lidstrom look like a cone. Im thinkin if the move is there and its good enough it doesnt matter whos on d. Savards moves were pretty dirty so im thinkin it wouldve worked on most guys in the show today

  • @CityofEvil15 there would have been 4 penalties called at least if this was today it was a lot harder to go by guys back then when they could use their sticks to slow you down.

  • @SoloAxe stop looking at savard in this video and start looking at the defense...its sad.

  • @CityofEvil15 wings suck....they really do

  • @alex91161 lol....right. I dont like the yankees..i hate them. Its like me saying the yankees suck. I dont want to say it but i have to..they are a great team in their sport. Own up to it. You are a pussy fart.

  • @CityofEvil15 look i was kidding but dont you see...evrybody postponed your comment? wazza!

  • @CityofEvil15 you can't and don't compare eras to evaluate greatness. by your logic, gretzky wouldn't have scored half of his goals today (which is probably right) cause players today are bigger, stronger, have better physical conditionning, and goalies today have big pads that make them look like the michelin man.

  • @st393736 haha..the michelin man. Totally true

  • @CityofEvil15 Wowzers, you mad, bro?

  • @terriers2012 lol... the other guy put that comment. Im not mad at all lol. You put 'wowzers, you mad, bro?'...I never seen that reply on the internet before! Very creative sir! bahahahaha..YOU ARE A FAIL. XD

  • @CityofEvil15 actually i might be the first to agree...

  • @CityofEvil15 well how about the players back then? they didnt have the sticks, skates and other advanced technology that goes into gear today and the same thing go with defense-men so learn something grow the fuck up and notice greatness u prick

  • @H0ck3ykid12 go get your pacifier and cry about it you whiny little bitch xD

  • @CityofEvil15 yea see u really have nothing else to say back besides cry about..... xD

  • @H0ck3ykid12 ..no i do have stuff to say..i just dont feel like repeating myself..go look at my previous comments. Your mommy rubs your nuts for you..and rubs baby lotion on them? doesnt she? xD

  • @CityofEvil15 Why would you use Kronwall as an example? Why don't you shut up for a second, hop off the Red Wings' dick, and admire this spectacular goal?

  • @S3ymourButtz Are you mad there buddy?... Do you not have your pacifier?

  • @CityofEvil15 Lame, lame chirp.

  • @theultimateultimatum chirp chirp

  • @CityofEvil15 Two of the goalies were Grant Fuhr and John Vanbiesbrouck...fucking idiot.

  • @dsSLAY3R WOW...YOU ARE SMART. DAMN. YOU ARE SMART

  • @CityofEvil15 thx bro

  • @dsSLAY3R you got it man

  • @CityofEvil15 yeah right, if you watch goal highlight videos from todays game there's some goals that look pretty weak.

  • @tjackson76 yes, i do agree with you.. but it happens in every sport (obviously its not 'goal' in every sport) but it does happen..when defensive players are weak. Im saying if a player did this nowadays what is shown in this video, it would not work..

  • hahahhahahahaha that was epic

  • Canadians are born with hockey uniforms on

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater thats right canadians grow up in igloos and are using their skates from the time they are born ,so that makes them natural hockey players.

  • @TheRitchardgaleHater Sean Avery wasn't.

  • lol i remember watching these and doing spin-a-ramas playing youth hockey... i wonder if i could do it

  • Holy shit! that guy could play hockey

  • 1 MAN CAN DO ALL THIS AND HIS NAME IS PHIL KESSEL WHO PLAYS FOR CANADA'S TEAM

  • @SOLIDSNAKEXXX360 it's too bad there are so many players wayyy beyond phil kessel in skill and determination to play the game. It's also too bad he had to sign with "canada's team" considering they're fucking horrible.

  • those original coyotes sweaters were awesome, they should bring them back

  • Really? A rookie. You sir have no idea what skill is. If this isn't skill than nothing is

  • That was good ol hockey....Not anymore....

  • I still can't believe that I had the honor of meeting him... I got him to sign a Blackhawks DVD for my dad for father's day too. It was fucking awesome.

  • quebecers were born with skates on their feet

  • It was amazing to watch him play

  • i could watch this 1000x what a beast dangler

  • 2 people are dan ellis and carry price (they both got scored on by spinneramas!!!!)!!!

  • such dangles yet no swag

  • He was one of the greats. You never hear comparisons because he's one of a kind. I mean, how often do you see a 'spin-o-rama'?

Looked funny in a helmet, though.

  • Nice hesitation by Savard at center to back up the Oiler defense behind the blue line!

  • Bobby Orr had some beautiful goals.

  • @bigbadbruins1 The way he played no matter who was in the box or how many, the Bruins were never short-handed.

  • @bigbadbruins1 agreed. this video reminded me of him, the way he just went through their whole team like that.

  • Dennis Savard provided Michael Jordan excitement to hockey . He had so many amazing goals and played on some of the best Chicago teams. If not for Edmonton Oilers the Hawks would have one a cup or two with Savard

  • Golaies sucked back in those days. Seriously.

  • Well I guess if Goalies sucks back in those days Gretsky really must have sucked also. You're an idiot JC. Savard and Larmar were unreal players. Look at the numbers.

  • @mrr196521 Go kill yourselve.

  • @mrr196521

Goalies were fucking lazy and not aggresive enough back in the 80's.

  • The reason I wore 81 as a kid and now today at 35. Arguably one of the most creative players of all time. Gotta love S a v v y!!!

  • hoooly macral

  • such a goal makes happy! :)

  • i can't remember if he came from montreal or went to montreal to or from chicago. if he left chicago, then they miiiight have gotten a cup sooner than this past season (09-10).

  • if this were to be done today by one of my heros i would jizz myself

  • Denis Savard sees himself open in the slot, he shoots he SCORES!!!

  • This "showboat guy" Linus Omark reminds me of him. I dont think it would be bad for the NHL to get more of this type of players..eventhough the game has changed a lot sinds then.

  • @Biggmofo Yeah, I think the NHL needs a player like Linus. Hopefully he'll help the Oilers redeem themselves within the next season or two.

  • Guys like Omark is what the league needs. Like we seriously need any more boring guys like Iginla and Crosby.

  • @Biggmofo Omark has done absolutely fuck all, he did that useless spinmove at the blueline in the shootout that did absolutely nothing and has done nothing since.

  • @Biggmofo hes not a showboat...hes just really good, practices alot, and has good hands and until somebody stops him then he will keep doin it.

  • @SoFluffy17 That's why I added the quote unquote marks.. you dig?

  • @Biggmofo whoops, sorry i dig it

  • Too much fucking clutch and grab now. You try this stuff today and you get hammered or smeared against the advertising along the boards. A small satisfaction but still, hockey today has little in common with hockey then.

  • @supercooled

While I agree that hockey has changed a lot, you have it backwards. They've done a pretty good job of eliminating the clutch and grab from hockey today.

Watch this video more closely, Savard gets hooked several times going up the ice. Those would all be penalties now.

  • none of this shit would work now a days

  • @goneRIDING250F Agreed. There's no one skilled enough to do it.

  • @SpinnerMC the defense would never let it happen..he'd be put on his ass

and pass the puck why dont u..quit ur spinnin shit

  • @jar5136 Trollololololooo lololooo lololoooo yayayayayaaaa

  • @SpinnerMC Youre kidding right?

  • @TheScore22 Yeah, I am. I just knew that comment would get a lot of raging responses. This video has been trolled a lot so I figured I'd try to turn the tables. Haha

  • @SpinnerMC oh okay haha i got trolled pretty well ahaha.

  • @SpinnerMC Even though your joking, you are probably actually right. When Denis Savard scored against the Edmonton Oilers, do you know how many hall of famers were on the ice?

  • @SpinnerMC no everyones so skilled that they wuld stop it

  • @SpinnerMC Kopitar is but the defence is nowadays good and not like in those days...shit!

  • @SpinnerMC datsuk

  • @goneRIDING250F who could do this today?? and why don't they? the nhl asn't had a super star in a very long time.

  • @goneRIDING250F LOL yes it does you fucking noob. People do it all the time. BAHAHAHAH points and laughs

  • @keyrabuns69 lmao dumb rookie. upload a real man scoring like rob schremp and then go play in traffic

  • that reminds me of Nhl -94 ea sports

  • Savard`s goal against deadmonton was a sweet payback to sather who, despite savards exploits, kept leaving him off the national squad when he was coaching. He skated by the oiler bench and made a big head motion to sather after that goal. Couldn`t stand sather much...can`t say many did.

  • "Out of 5 guys on the ice, he beat almost 11 guys"

    what?

  • @dc619 as in he was turning around and circling back and forth, meaning he beat the same guys multiple times

  • U can't say that bout Denis Savard. Ok maybe his passing percentage wasn't so great, but come on look at him, their was a reason why he wasn't passing the puck, he was probably the best player on that team at that time, well at least on that line. When u got a guy like who can stick handle, move his feet, position himself in ways others can't, then u pretty much don't have to pass the puck. Plus Chi-town should've lined him-up with better wing-men.

  • After watching that goal, how much does denis savard pass? Probrably never.

  • @inoscopedlincoln Well, according to his stats, he passed at least 865 times in his career, haha. But yeah, like most great players, he was kind of a puck hog

(I wish I still had footage of some of his nice assists)

  • @SpinnerMC yea he probrably had some great assists, but from looking at these goals he never even looked to pass.

  • @inoscopedlincoln

Hawks were in the middle of the shifts when Savard was holding the puck. Who should he have passed it to?

  • @inoscopedlincoln hey if he didnt take the puck it never wuld of happened and plus when he went into the other teams zone he was the only person there his team was waiting

  • @inoscopedlincoln look at forsbergs games if you think this guy passes little

  • @vemfanbryrsej Forsberg? He who has been called a 'passing wizard'?

  • some amazing french canadian hockey players out there

  • this video is fantastic!! but only one thing can you say me how the song in the background is called?

  • @persia518 Sorry, but I don't know what the song is called. :(

  • @SpinnerMC where do you find this video? are there more of denis savard?

  • Who's actually implying Savard celebrated too much? Ovechkin would have stomped on some players, destroyed the boards and jumped onto his teammates if he had scored a goal that nice...

  • That guy must like never get hit. That's awesome.

  • @ghwammy LOL, how the hell could anyone hit him spinning around like that?

  • spin-o-rama!

  • I was at that game! Me and my 3 friends had SRO in the 2nd balcony that night!

  • Let me guess, judging by the comments, the poster of this video thinks "old time hockey was so much better than these damn kids!"

  • @LemmingAttack You shouldn't jump to conclusions, Hetalia-fan! I think hockey is great in any era. I'm just defending Dennis Savard from the haters who are trying to belittle his talent. (Besides, most of these 'damn kids' are older than me!)

  • @LemmingAttack Old time hockey was way better. Not this shit we have today where everything is a penalty. Also shootouts are lame, they should just have one, twenty minute overtime period in regular season and if no goal is scored its a tie. That's better then a game coming down to a shootout.

  • Great plays but he could have passed the puck quite a few times in them. Ide hate to be on his line

  • I love you scotty beauchamps...

  • Denis Savard Is my uncle

  • @JesseRayTv Your cool.

  • amazing

  • what an ego....

  • @SCRJ94 What do you mean? :O

He seems pretty humble to me. He was able to score a great goal without jumping into the glass and acting like a moron in celebration afterwards.

  • @SpinnerMC true...

  • @SpinnerMC celebrations give energy your team i've played hockey about 9 years now and i know that

  • @SlayerofNHL True, but that doesn't make hotdogging any less conceited.

Don't get me wrong, I don't really mind the celebrations, my original comment was just indicating that Savard was humble and didn't engage in such activities. :P

  • @SpinnerMC oh i see now :P you are right

  • @SCRJ94 Thats Jeremy Roenick being interviewed, not Savard
