Well, we know suppression alone has not worked. Look at the numbers. He is talking about professionals working with youth; about outreach. We must look at re-entry. Barrios Unidos is a very successful, reputable organization. I do understand the mentality of Law Enforcement, very different from community side. Each side can get extreme with views. The trick for communities is finding that balance.
I want to thank Juan for explaining this in logical detail. Our attitudes towards other human beings in the U.S. has become disgusting. We need to foster hope, not ensure disaster. I know many gang members who grew up and became meaningful contributors to society. But this was because they had the opportunity to meet people who made a difference and fostered change within them. Stop the violence and help young people become positive role models!
my shut up! a you have the ball to put sgt in front of your name. You need to learn something from the S.W.A.T. Officer who just died who had a passion for intervention.
Same story everytime. He makes no sense and is in denial. He was a gang member himself. Just look at how he dresses. Then he changes in a doctos robe. He prays on the liberal mind set. The first impression he gives is he is an gang member. Hug a gang memeber??? Are you kidding me. what do you think a gang member will do when you try to hug him? when was the last time you saw a gang member hug an innocent victim instead of cutting him up?
@sgt851 You don't even know juan firstly hes actually out there making a change in the community what are you doing complaing about how he wants to handle it. You don't like it go do something about it your way. Cause you know what your not fixing anything. Along with that Juan has changed alot of people's lives around and I've seen this. What have you done other than support putting gang members in jail nothing nor have you probally ever had to put up with them normally.
Isn't loving the gang member but rejecting violence sort of like loving the maggot but rejecting the house fly??
