haha that picture at 0:45 where they've fixed his eye and made him look more "normal" is a truly disturbing picture. i like him better with his flaws and quirks. anyway this is an awesome version of blow out.
this is one of the most beautiful songs...reminds of my mom who went to heaven after jamming w/cancer for a year in a half. She would to like to check-out what kind of music I would be listening / playing too on the ax @ the time...she was very cool....she liked Jeff Buckley. She gets front row seats now...for free : )...for any show ; )
I feel like I've just entered the twilight zone. As an obsessive Posies fan throughout my youth... and then an obsessive Radiohead fan as well... this is absolutely amazing. I've entered into a warm & happy place just knowing that this performance exists.
absolutely not on on kroq; at cbc (canadian broadcasting corporation) in vancouver BC; 1996 i believe; i was the host/interviewer so i can personally vouch for this.
okay, i think i have the info you are looking for. i'm the person who comes on at the end and ID's the posies and thom yorke. i believe it was 1996. it was recorded at CBC vancouver, for a radio show called realtime. both the posies and radiohead were in town the same day and i did some research and discovered that the bands were fans of each other and had crossed paths at a recording studio in london. DVD extra type info: the posies only had a few minutes before we rolled tape. amazing, huh?
The original version of the song is from RADIOHEAD's album Pablo Honey (1993).This version played from Thom Yorke(RADIOHEAD-vocals),Jon Auer (THE POSIES - drums) and Ken Stringfellow (THE POSIES - guitar) at CBC Radio Vancouver Canada.
listen to the end, its a radiohead song but in this particular version its thom yorke (vocals from radiohead) jon auer (drums) and ken stringfellow (guitar) from the POSIES
told ya you crazy foo'! Love the fact Bill put up the goofiest pictrures he could find. coincidentally these are all the pictures wit him smiling. This is a perfect example of why Thom keeps his smiles to himself
I love the Pixies, but I also love the Posies. And this was definately the Posies, who also are part of the Touring Big Star band with Alex Chilton. Ken Stringfellow also tours with REM usually. Auer does session work and producing. Check out their Solar Sister live on Youtube.
an artist called L.O.Freq (I dont know them besides this) did a very nice cover of this song. you can find it on the album: Exit Music: Songs With Radiohead. it was the only song i liked on this cd... :)
